Del Piero hit by thigh injury

MILAN - Juventus and Italy striker Alessandro Del Piero suffered a thigh injury in his team's 1-1 draw at Atalanta on Sunday and could be in doubt for his country's friendly against Portugal on February 12.

Del Piero was taken off injured two minutes from the end of normal time in Sunday's game to leave his team, who had used all their substitutes, with just 10 men.

Juve said on their website that Del Piero had a 'muscle problem in his left thigh that will be evaluated in the coming hours'.

Del Piero has put his fitness problems behind him this season and has been in fine form, scoring 12 goals in Serie A for the Italian champions.
