Keeping the Bianconero staff
on tenterhooks right up until the team's departure for Florence was Alessandro
Del Piero, who has not been able to train at the Comunale for two days.
Alex has succumbed to a bought of 'flu and, although the worst is now over,
he has been resting as a precaution. Del Piero left with the team, and
his presence on the pitch on Sunday evening now seems not to be in too
much doubt. But Kovacevic is on standby in case of any last-minute mishaps.
Ciro Ferrara, who was suffering
from a muscular problem in the run-up to the match against Inter (which
he was due to miss through suspension in any case), has been training separately
all week. He played a training match with his teammates before leaving
for Florence, and will be in his usual position against the Viola on Sunday.
Coach Ancelotti, however,
will have to do without the services of a suspended Van der Sar, and the
injured Mirkovic (who has back problems), Fonseca (with a muscle twinge)
and Bachini (with a muscle strain). Ancelotti has made no secret of his
two wide midfielders: it will be Conte and Pessotto.
The Bianconeri will spend
all day Sunday at temporary team headquarters. The game against Fiorentina
will kick off at 8.30pm, and the team will return to Turin immediately
after the match. Next week´s training schedule looks like this: afternoon
training on Monday, two sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, one
only on Friday, followed by holidays until January 1st.
JUVENTUS (3-4-1-2): Rampulla;
Ferrara, Montero, Iuliano; Conte, Davids, Tacchinardi, Pessotto; Zidane;
Inzaghi, Del Piero (D'Amico, Tudor, Birindelli, Oliseh, Zambrotta, Kovacevic,
