Jan
Savage recently retired as a Captain
from TWA after 34 years, with over 20,000 hours. Before
joining TWA, Jan was a CFI with Rose Aviation at Hawthorne Airport
(HHR) and Chief Pilot -Designee at Trojanair Flight School in
Torrance (TOA). Jan has trained many students who later went on
to find success in the air.
Jan
started his career with TWA in 1965 as a Flight Engineer on the
Lockheed Constellation, and then was asked to be a ground instructor
at TWA's Kansas City headquarters. After a few years, he was back
in Los Angeles as a First Officer on the Boeing 707. Since earning
his Captain stripes in 1979, Jan has flown nearly every aircraft
in the TWA stable including the Lockheed L-1011, All models of
the DC-9 including the MD-80, Boeing 707, 747, 757 and 767.
After
retiring from TWA at age 60 in 1999, he decided to renew his CFI-I
and buy his first airplane.
The

Ground Instruction
This
entitles pilot to get insurance through AYA (better rates) and
insures a competent, thorough checkout in your Grumman aircraft
(Roughly 2 hrs ground and at least 1.5 hrs flight time).
