The circulatory system is the body's transport system. It is made up of a group of organs that transport blood throughout the body. The heart is the pumping organ which does the pumping of the blood. and the artery and veins are the transporting route for the blood that the heart transports. The circulartory routine starts when the left ventricle contracts, pumping Oxygen-rich red blood cells toward the aorta, the body's largest artery. From here the blood cell pumps until they reach a series of smaller vessels known as capillaries, the junction between arteries and veins. From here, the oxygen detaches from the red blood cell and slip through the capillary wall and is being transported into body organs, cell, and tissues. It gives them oxygen and nutrients and takes out the waste and carbon dioxide. Now the de-oxygenated red blood cells return to the heart through a series of smaller veins. When it gets to the right atrium,The waste products from the organs, cells, and tissues are brought and the blood is brought back to the heart. Now the right ventricle of the heart pumps the red blood cells toward the lung, to pick up oxygen. Now oxygenated, the blood returns to the left atrium, moves to the left ventricle. And the process repeats. There are four valves located between the ventricles, the atriums and the ventricles, the pulmonary artery, and the aorta. These valves' functions is assuring blood to flow forward, not backward into the heart.
