Leather Equipment

Waist Belt: Try to find late war but an early war waist belt will work waxed or buff leather is fine.

Cartridge Box and shoulder Sling: late war boxes were stamped with US instead of the brass plate. But an early war box will work FYI they were sewn as opposed to riveted for late war blacken the white stitching with a felt marker or black shoe polish. Slings can be of waxed or buff leather.

Sling: Issue slings were made of Black waxed or buff leather no cotton slings please

Bayonet Scabbard: a seven rivet scabbard is preferred but an early war (two rivets) pattern will work

Cap Box: Late war Cap boxes were stamped with US but early war will work. FYI early war cap pouches were sewn and not riveted.  Blacken the white stitching with a felt marker or black shoe polish.
