Uniform List and Recommended On Line Venders
We were the first confederate group invited to attend the Glorietta event in New Mexico. So we take our uniforms seriously. This unit has two different uniforms: the Tiger and the mid to late war uniform. This allows us the flexibility needed to attend most reenactments. We strongly suggest our new recruits focus on obtaining the basic gear first, and then start looking at the Tiger uniform. This list is an equipment guide to help our new recruits to become a proper Tiger. When you first join you may borrow from other members or from the unit. While the unit sometimes has loaner equipment available, it is loaned on a first come, first serve basis. Each mess is responsible for keeping track of loaner gear and it must be returned at the end of the event. The sooner you get your equipment the better off the unit will be and the closer you are to becoming a Tiger. There's a lot of disreputable people out there that love to sell fresh fish junk (i.e. the Major). So please consult with a qualified tiger NCO before purchasing any equipment. We like keeping it real, so only period type of camping equipment and paraphernalia is allowed in camp during visiting hours. If you need special accomodations, please discuss this with the Major and he will get you squared away.

The Tiger Rifle's Uniform
Zouave Jacket Explanation
Due to recent archaeological digs, some blue cloth from a tiger jacket survived. In combination with this and family folklore, we think that the jacket might have been blue with red trim. In addition no one knows if the jackets had tombeaus on the front. Considering it was a popular design at the time it is possible. But we err on the side of caution and don't put them our uniforms. The debate rages on, some say the jackets were brown or butternut some say blue. We take the stance that, no one is right or wrong due to the lack of reliable evidence.
