Centering your energy through meditation
Meditation has been shown to improve your physical well-being as well as your magickal.  By meditating, you lower your blood pressure, ease stress and muscle tension, lessen the symptoms of migraines, and attain an over-all calmness.  For your magickal work, it is your way of centering your personal energy and focusing it on the task at hand.
Meditation for Everyday People


1.  Sit in a comfortable position.  This may be sitting cross-legged on the floor with a small cushion for comfort, lying on your back or sitting in a straight-backed chair.

2.  Relax, but remember to keep you spine straight if sitting.  Imagine you're being supported by a string hanging from the ceiling, connected to the top of your head.

3.  Breathe deeply through your nose.  Some people enjoy inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.  Fill your lungs with air, expanding your chest and abdomen.  Then exhale slowly, expelling all of the air.

4.  Pick something to focus on.  This could be a candle flame, a picture, counting, repeating a phrase or word (mantra), or visualizing your energy centering in your body (if your preparing for magickal work).

5.  Start with 10 minutes a day, then increase the time.  (For centering your energy, only
you know how long it takes)  If you're in a situation that is becoming intense, you can practice your meditation for only a few minutes - Even that little time will help!!
I rely upon meditation to help me with many things - when my child gets out of hand, stopping smoking, headaches, PMS, and so many other things!  So, don't just use it to center your energy. Make it a part of your daily routine.  You'll feel better and more confident during your day!  And maybe you'll have less road-rage!

Please note that I haven't used colors that are bold or energetic.  Your surroundings are important.  Find a quiet place that's not too bright or too dark, unless you're in traffic or dealing with someone at the office!  Go for "soothing".
