My Car

Here's a selection of pictures of my latest acquisition. A 1992 "British Open Classic"

Body :-        Standard British racing green metallic paintwork, colour keyed arches, cooper style allow wheels with 145x12 tyres (soon to be 165x12), uprated gas shock absorbers, solid top subframe mounts, full length electric sunroof, chrome door mirrors, stainless steel door escussions , Aston style alloy fuel cap and the obligatory enamel union jacks on "A" panels.

Interior :-    Cream leather and green tweed seats, Walnut 2 dial dash and door capping's, magnolia dial fascias, walnut steering wheel, walnut gear knob, polished alloy door handles, alloy door lock cappings and chrome air vent trims.

Engine :-    Bog standard 1275 lump with carb, Maniflow LCB exhaust manifold, PlayMini stainless single box system, modified carb needle, standard air filter and box, much quieter and just as good as a K&N if you re-new on a frequent basis. oh and after a nice warm summer, a Pacet electric fan kit ( I got fed up with water blobbing out every time I stopped )

Faults :-    The heater doesn't turn off properly, perhaps that's why rover fitted the sunroof (must have been an easier option that sorting out the ventilation). Leaky windscreen, I hear this was actually a factory fitted option. "Now you see me, now you don't" fuel gauge, you would have thought after 40 odd years in production they would have sorted out a decent sender unit in the tank.

I have started a "British Open Classic" register as there were apparently only one thousand made for the UK market, If you have one or know anyone who has one then please contact me at the following website.

Well less of my drivel.....on with the pictures.

Errrm it's got wood stuff, oh and a big hole in the roof !

Yes I can justify nearly a 70 notes on polished alloy door goodies

There she is with all the new exterior goodies gleaming.

Some total w*nker in a frontera decided to modify the rear end

Just click on the picture above, select "print" for your very own paper model of my mini
