Paper End Plugs
Many think that the only way to get perfect paper end plugs are to order them from big companies.
Below is a very easy way to make perfect end plugs.
Materials: 4 sheets of 60 pound kraft paper each 1 inch square.
A bottle of elmers glue
a 1/2 inch dowel
a 9/16 inch paper tube
scizzors
Take a square of kraft paper and put a large drop of glue in the center.
Lay a sheet of kraft paper on top of it and spread some more glue on top of it. Lay another piece of paper on top, and keep doing this until you have a piece of paper 4 layers thick. Lay it on top of the dowel and pull it down over the dowel so the paper touches the wood and let go. It doesnt have to stay there.Slowly press it into the paper tube.
Once it is all inside the tube, let it sit in there for a few minutes. Take it out and cut it about 1/4 inch long. While you are waiting for the glue to dry inside the tube, you can make more of them. You are done. Now you have a professional end plug that you can use in M-80s and many other things.
Here is a comparision of one of my paper end plugs(right) to one I bought from United Nuclear. The only difference is that United Nuclears is colored red. Mine is about twice a thick also.
