Revelations Chapter two By: Felicia Renee` Talya was awakened by the bright sunlight that was shining through her window beating on her skin. She looked around the room. The room was rather sparse. A bed centered under the large window, a wooden chair sat in one corner, a vanity on one wall with a long mirror and directly to the right of that was a brass hook with forest green frock hanging from it. She noticed the gown was much like the one she was wearing from the night before. Next to the chair sat an old porcelain washbasin with a white washcloth draped over the side and pitcher. On the top of the vanity there was a silver brush and comb set with four silver hair clips. A black piece of paper lay on the vanity next to the hair set. It read, “You are to clean yourself then put the gown on and wear your hair up for the day. Do not leave your room until you are summoned.” Talya did as the note instructed. She did as she was instructed, pouring some of the surprisingly warm water into the basin; she washed her face, hands, arms, legs, then and her womanly parts. She slipped into the gown, pulled her hair back, straitened up the room, then sat on the chair and waited. The heavy oak door swung open reveling the woman she knew as Sister from the prior evening. “I am please you have chosen to stay with us Talya. I will be here to help you, as you need it through the next weeks. We have many things that need to be done today and no time to waist. Are you ready?” She questioned in a soft but firm tone. “Yes. Am I to follow you?” “For the time being, yes you are.” Sister stated to Talya as she turned and left the room. Talya quickly followed her out of the room, making sure to close the door behind her. Sister continued down the hallway, passing through the rays of sunlight that sliced through the shadow like a golden knife. Talya was stunned that Sister moved with such fluid movements. Every step she took looked almost as if she was floating. Talya watch Sister carefully as she hurried behind her. Each time Sister passed through the sunlight her hair shined a blue black, the color of a panther as it slinked through the rain forest. Her skin was a creamy ivory color that took in the sun’s golden fingers turning it the color the sunset on a warm summer night. As she began to come to the end of the hall Sister turned to Talya, the light catching her eyes. Talya hadn’t noticed the stunning color blue that they were. More than blue though they were almost a soul penetrating ice blue. Talya felt as if she had her very being looked into as Sister surveyed her from head to toe. Sister took her to the library she was in the night before. Talya was told that the books on the south wall are for her to read and to learn from. Then Sister left Talya in the eerily silent room. Talya began to read. The pages turning were the only sound that broke the silence. Page after page and book after book she read not aware at all of the time. She had just finished with the first small shelf when Sister came back. “Come with me little one, you need to eat.” Talya rose and again found herself following Sister down another hallway. She noticed that is was no longer light outside. The moon took the place of the suns rays that had shone through the windowpanes earlier. She was lead to a small room with a table and two chairs. There was a bowl, plate, glass and silverware tipped in gold waiting. Sister motioned for her to sit, then told her to eat. “Master will be home soon, He has asked that you be waiting for Him in His chamber when He arrives.” Again Talya did as she was instructed. Master’s chamber was dimly lit with black, purple and silver candles. There was enough light for Talya to see the magnificent room she was in. The door was carved with intricate images of dragons flying over majestic mountaintops with mystical women on their backs. Along one wall was a collection of ancient swords from all different cultures perfectly polished. The candlelight danced as it reflected off the blades. The wall directly across from that was a glass case that displayed the most stunning crystal sculpture of a dragon. The eyes glowed bright red as the dim light bounced off of them. She moved closer to see that the red she saw was coming form two completely flawless rubies. She noticed that the dragon was holding a deep blue sapphire in its mouth. She was almost hypnotized by the sheer detail in the piece. Centered above the glass case was a delicate tapestry woven with purple, black, gold and silver silk. The threads weaved in and out of each other creating a very abstract design that was breath taking. The bed sat majestically along one of the remaining walls. It was an enormous four post oak frame with a sheer purple and silver drape swaged across the sides of the top of the frame then cascaded down each of the four posts of the bed. Talya walked over to the bed she could see through the drapes that there was something shining through as the candles flickered. She brushed the silky fabric to one side with her hands reveling a gold embossed rope carved into the post of the bed. Next to the bed sat a wooden chair with the same gold work though the wood. She sat on the bed facing the last wall in the room. She was rendered almost breathless as the image she saw. There was another door on that wall much like the one she was lead through as she entered the room. Around the door was a mural painted. The mural was of a castle using the door as the entrance to the castle. To the right of the door stood a man with a woman perched gracefully beside him on her knees. Talya stared at the man and woman. As she looked she realized that man and woman were Master and Sister. They were painted perfectly. There wasn’t a detail missing from the images. She sat lost in amazement looking at the mural, when the door in the castle opened. Master entered silently, making his way towards Talya. She kept her eyes lowered as she was instructed but wanted so badly to loose herself in his magnificence. She fought with all she was to keep her place. He stopped directly in front of Talya, towering over her small frame. “Have you enjoyed your day here?” “Yes, Master” “Did you read and learn as you were instructed?” “Yes, Master” Page 2 Ch 2 Home Back To Last Page Ch 1 |
