In an
effort to protect her company, Erica hired Kendall at Enchantment as means
to get her stolen by a rival cosmetics company, and out of Pine Valley.
However, Erica's plan backfired, and the competitor hired Greenlee Smythe
instead. When Kendall learned of the plan, she was livid and pulled a gun
on Erica. Ryan stood by Kendall, often as a calming influence, and they
grew closer.
When Erica's house burned down, Erica blamed Kendall, and Kendall was
arrested for arson. Trey Kenyon, who was the real arsonist, represented
Kendall and set her up to fail a polygraph test. Kendall soon began to
suspect that Trey was the one who burned down Erica's house for the
Proteus files, and teamed with Greenlee to find out the truth. Meanwhile,
Trey also suspected that he and Kendall were brother and sister. Just
before they learned they indeed shared the same father, Richard Fields,
Trey confessed to Kendall that he set fire to Erica's house and framed
Kendall for it. A furious Kendall worked with the police to trap Trey into
an official confession, but before the plan was put into action, she
changed her mind. Trey and Kendall connected over their new sibling-hood
and Kendall decided to protect her brother. Eventually Trey went to jail
for his crimes and Kendall was cleared.
Ryan proposed to Kendall and she accepted. However, her desire to get
information on Erica led to her breakup. Kendall tried to seduce Aidan
Devane, Erica's handyman, in order to gain access to Erica's penthouse so
she could plant a bug. Ryan caught Kendall and Aidan together and left
her, and Pine Valley, without a word.
Kendall started to develop feelings for Aidan, and when she realized he
was falling for Maria Grey, Kendall blabbed to the police where Aidan and
Maria were hiding with a missing Maddie Grey. Kendall admitted to Aidan
she was jealous of Maria, and Aidan blasted Kendall for being manipulative
As Greenlee was dealing with her husband Leo's death, Kendall found
herself in the position to take over Greenlee's job at the cosmetics
company. Greenlee returned to work and saw Kendall in her place,
infuriating Greenlee. In trying to outdo each other, though, Greenlee and
Kendall both lost their jobs. Trey suggested to Greenlee and Kendall that
they start their own cosmetics company. He even got Kendall to go to
Palmer Cortlandt for a building to house a new business, which led Kendall
and Greenlee to eventually team up again, this time for Fusion Cosmetics
with Liza Colby, her sister Mia, and Simone Torres.
On a business trip for Fusion, Kendall met worldly, jet-setting Michael
Cambias. Michael followed Kendall to Pine Valley and quickly made Kendall
fall in love with him, ingratiating himself into her life. Little did
Kendall know that Michael and his henchwoman, Lena Kundera, were plotting
to take over Enchantment through Kendall's connection to Erica.
Michael's true colors were eventually revealed after Erica, Kendall and
Bianca found out what Michael and Lena were doing and teamed up to bring
them down. Michael's takeover plot blew up in his face, and he found
himself out of the wealthy family business. Not one to take public
humiliation lightly, Michael retaliated. On the night that Erica and
Kendall finally came to terms with their rocky relationship, Michael raped
Bianca.
Kendall vowed revenge on Michael. After Michael was cleared of all rape
charges, he disappeared. Kendall announced the next day that she had
married Michael, disgusting the entire town. However, it became clear that
there was more to Kendall's story, especially when she fervently tried to
prevent an abandoned warehouse in Pine Valley from being torn down.
Michael's dead body was discovered in the warehouse shortly after. Aidan
stood by Kendall, determined to prove her innocence. Their bonding
culminated in a relationship between the two.
Ryan returned to town as the Cambias heir (Michael's father had left
everything to Ryan). Kendall and Ryan went head to head, each claiming
they were entitled to the entire Cambias fortune. Eventually, Michael's
time of death was proven to have occurred before Alexander, thus giving
Ryan full control over all the Cambias assets. Despite being at odds,
Kendall and Ryan slept together one night, which ended Kendall's
relationship with Aidan.
Kendall learned that Bianca was pregnant as a result of the rape, and
planned to terminate the pregnancy. Full of conflicted emotions over her
own conception, Kendall told her sister to "do what she needed to." Soon
Kendall was shocked to discover that Bianca never terminated and planned
on keeping the baby. Touched, Kendall and Bianca formed the tightest of
bonds, as Kendall agreed to keep the pregnancy a secret from Erica (who
Bianca feared would be traumatized on learning that Bianca had a child of
rape, similar to Erica's situation with Kendall). Ryan nearly discovered
the truth about Bianca's pregnancy (which would mean that Bianca's baby
was entitled to the Cambias fortune, as the money automatically went to a
child of Michael's), Kendall covered for her sister by claiming that she
was pregnant! Kendall then claimed that she was entitled to the Cambias
fortune, as she was carrying Michael's child. This immediately caused her
to clash with Ryan, who planned to disprove her claim (and thus inherit
the Cambias estate himself).
Bianca and David Hayward helped Kendall medically cover her paternity
claim, although Ryan was disbelieving. Their old feelings were present in
every confrontation. Eventually, Ryan realized the truth about Kendall's
paternity claim, and told Kendall that he was going to support her.
Touched, Kendall and Ryan reunited and became engaged again. Soon, Kendall
was arrested for Michael's murder.
Kendall went on trial for Michael's murder. Erica, despite her disgust
over Kendall's pregnancy claim, did not want her daughter to go to jail
and promised Ryan that she would not pursue a vendetta against Kendall.
Greenlee (believing Kendall to be unworthy of Ryan) revealed that Kendall
wasn't pregnant-by ripping off her dress in court! Devastated, Kendall's
credibility was thrown out the window. Erica learned the truth of Bianca's
pregnancy and, feeling betrayed, distanced herself from both Bianca and
Kendall. Shortly after, Bianca realized that she had killed Michael and
blocked the whole incident out (no charges were pressed). Kendall revealed
that she knew Bianca had murdered Michael, and hid the body and concocted
the marriage lie in an effort to protect her sister. Bianca was amazed at
the depth of her sister's love.
Kendall, struggling with trust issues (as well as jealousy over Ryan's
friendship with Greenlee), accused Ryan of working with Greenlee to expose
her in court so he could get his hands on the Cambias estate. Ryan denied
Kendall's claims but she was unwilling to listen. The two broke off their
engagement.
After a vicious fight with Erica, in which the latter told Bianca that a
child of rape would only result in pain for both mother and child, Bianca
took off. She became stranded in a remote cabin with Babe Chandler, who
was also pregnant. The two girls went into labor and Bianca gave birth to
a daughter, Miranda. Paul Cramer, Babe's ex-husband, drugged Babe and
stole Babe's son, giving it to his sister Kelly Cramer (of One Life To
Live) to raise. After being confronted by Babe's angry husband JR, Paul
confessed that Bianca's daughter was the child that Babe had given birth
to. Bianca, who remained unconscious, couldn't confirm or deny this.
Bianca and all of Pine Valley were told that Miranda had died in the
helicopter crash that Paul had staged.
Kendall was devastated by Miranda's death and began a downward spiral that
destroyed any chance of happiness that she had with Ryan, a trajectory
that Kendall wasn't fully cognizant of until months later.
Kendall attempted to console her sister while dealing with her own sense
of loss at Miranda's apparent death. Ryan was a great source of comfort to
Kendall and the two grew closer. However, his friendship with Greenlee
remained a sore point for Kendall, which led to clashes with Ryan.
Not wanting Greenlee to have any part of Fusion (now a Cambias owned
company), a vindictive Kendall revealed her trump card at a Cambias board
meeting that marked Ryan's return as the Cambias heir (following the
supposed death of Miranda, a blood Cambias, control of Cambias Industries
reverted back to Ryan). Kendall had Bianca institute a clause in the
Cambias by-laws that prevented Greenlee from ever working for a Cambias
company (like Fusion). Ryan was furious that Kendall had stooped so low,
and begged her to end her vendetta against Greenlee. Unable to let it go,
Ryan told Kendall that she chose her anger over him and broke up with her.
Ryan offered to marry Greenlee so she would be his wife (and co-owner of
Cambias, allowing her to work at Fusion). Greenlee accepted and Kendall
got wind of this. At the wedding, Kendall locked Greenlee in her hotel
room and showed up at the ceremony in a wedding dress. Kendall made a
moving plea to Ryan about her love and desire to marry him. Ryan almost
married Kendall on the spot-until Greenlee showed up and revealed what
Kendall had done. A furious Kendall fought with Greenlee, leading to Ryan
declaring them over for good. Ryan married Greenlee.
Kendall continued to try to make Ryan and Greenlee's life miserable at
Fusion, which merged with Enchantment when Erica signed over the latter to
Kendall. Kendall slept with Ryan's brother, Jonathan, to hurt Ryan but it
was to no avail. Kendall attempted to blackmail Bobby Warner into sleeping
with Greenlee, but that failed. Growing more unstable and fueled by rage,
Kendall found herself a guest at Zach Slater's casino opening, where a
"murder game" was amongst the festivities. As part of the game, Kendall
had to play the role of "murderer" (complete with a gun loaded with
blanks) and her "victim" was Ryan. Kendall pointed her unloaded gun at
Ryan while berating him and Greenlee. Just as she pulled the trigger, Ryan
was shot in the chest. At first Kendall believed she was responsible, but
forensics proved she was innocent. Seeing Ryan almost die made Kendall
realize how far her grief over losing Miranda had taken her.
Ethan Ramsey, who claimed to be the true Cambias heir, became Kendall's
confidante and supporter as she came to terms with her actions. The two
continued to grow close as Kendall helped him to reconcile that he might
not be a Cambias. Ethan was arrested for shooting Ryan, and Kendall vowed
to stand by him and prove his innocence. The feelings between the two have
deepened as they embarked on a relationship.
Greenlee began exhibiting strange behavior, raging from dangerous
impulsivity to near catatonia. Kendall was shocked when one night she
found Greenlee, clearly delusional, about to hurl off the Fusion roof as
part of an imagined trapeze act. Kendall saved Greenlee, who was
institutionalized. The source of Greenlee's ailment was revealed to be an
excess of anti-psychotic drugs in her system. Greenlee had been slowly and
methodically poisoned. Unable to remember Kendall saving her that night,
both Greenlee and Ryan wondered whether Kendall, with her history of anger
towards Greenlee, was responsible. Ethan defended Kendall as their
relationship deepened.
Kendall was devastated when Bianca fell off a balcony and slipped into a
coma. Fearful that Bianca would die, Kendall leaned on Ethan for support.
Along with the rest of Pine Valley, Kendall was shocked when Erica
announced that Bess Chandler was really Miranda, having been switched at
birth by Paul. Erica urged Bianca to wake from her coma and be a mother to
Miranda. Her pleas were heard and Bianca awoke, reuniting with her
daughter. Kendall was overjoyed, but still faced suspicion in Greenlee's
poisoning. Greenlee recalled Kendall saving her on the Fusion roof, and
declared Kendall's innocence in the poisoning. The two women slowly began
to rebuild their friendship.
Greenlee began to suspect that Jonathan was responsible for poisoning her,
and teamed up with Kendall to prove his guilt. Greenlee kept her suspicion
from Ryan for fear of repercussions to her marriage. Kendall kept
Greenlee's secret from Ryan, claiming that she alone was investigating
Jonathan. Greenlee came clean with Ryan, but was touched by Kendall's
display of friendship.
Ethan, using Miranda's DNA, proved that he was a real Cambias. Furious
with Zach for denying him, he assumed control of Cambias Industries and
swore revenge on his father. Kendall worried that vengeance would consume
Ethan's life as it once consumed hers. Ethan assured Kendall that his
focus was on them. He told her he loved her. Shortly after, Kendall was
heartbroken when Bianca and Miranda moved to Paris.
When Edmund Grey was murdered, Ethan claimed that he witnessed Zach commit
the crime. Zach was arrested, and Ethan swore to Kendall on their love
that he was telling the truth. Kendall believed him. Lily Montgomery came
forward and revealed she witnessed the murder and that Zach was innocent.
Ethan maintained that he was telling the truth about Zach. Kendall chose
to believe him, remembering that he had pledged the truth on their love.
Her support of Ethan led to clashes with Greenlee and Erica. Meanwhile,
Ryan and Jonathan's brother Braden came under suspicion for the casino
shooting of Ryan and poisoning of Greenlee, and Kendall swore that he
would pay. |
