Newcomer Aiden Turner joined the cast of All My Children in May 2002 as Aidan Devane, nephew of Pine Valley Police Chief, Anna Devane. Aidan is a mysterious man who may share some of his aunt's talents for attracting danger.

Born and raised in England, Mr. Turner has had a great amount of success modeling around the world. His television credits include Heartbreak High and he was featured in a music video with former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell.

Prior to his career in entertainment, Mr. Turner worked as a chef in Europe. When not in the kitchen, he enjoys a wide variety of sporting activities including tennis, golf, rugby, rollerblading, skateboarding and water skiing.

Aidan arrived in June 2002 and shocked his aunt, Anna Devane, by introducing himself as her deceased sister Lindsay's son. Aidan and David Hayward, Anna's husband, immediately clashed. After doing a background check, David revealed that Aidan was wanted in England on assault charges. The charges were dropped when Aidan, a former British Intelligence officer, explained that he defended a battered woman.

Aidan was hired by Erica Kane as a carpenter for her new penthouse. Her estranged daughter Kendall flirted with Aidan because he had access to Erica's personal information and Kendall wanted to plant a bug. Ryan Lavery, Kendall's boyfriend, witnessed the attempted seduction and left Kendall and Pine Valley.

Aidan met Maria Grey after she returned to town. An amnesiac, Maria had taken on the alias of Maureen Gorman. While Maria tried to figure out the missing pieces of her life, Aidan housed Maria and her daughter, Maddie. Jealous Kendall called the cops, claiming that Aidan was a kidnapper. Upon the cops' arrival, Aidan pulled a gun on them leading to another arrest. Finally, Kendall admitted her feelings to Aidan and kissed him, but he promptly rejected her, due to his feelings for Maria.

When Aidan found out that David wouldn't be punished for drugging Maria (David used an experimental drug to save her life, thus causing her to lose her memory) because of lack of evidence, he tried to inject David with the same drug. Luckily, Maria was there to stop him. Maria and Aidan grew closer, as Maria felt that Aidan was the only person that treated her like Maureen.

Later, Aidan was shot by someone from his past, and he ran to Maria for help. Maria learned from Aidan that he was wanted for murdering Fiona, a girl he had an affair with in England, but Aidan denied committing the crime. Aidan explained to them that the person who did kill Fiona was Fiona's husband, Julian, and that Julian was the one after Aidan. To keep Maria safe, Aidan tried to leave Pine Valley. Maria caught up with him and forced Aidan to take her with him and the two fled to the Bahamas. After a lethal showdown with Julian, they returned to Pine Valley. Edmund Grey finally accepted that he had lost his wife Maria to Aidan and filed divorce papers. Despite the strong bond between Aidan and Maria, Aidan was constantly worried that she would regain her memory and leave him.

Aidan proposed to Maria and she accepted despite her children's disapproval. Once engaged, Maria started regaining her memory and realized how much she truly loved Edmund. While on a yacht Aidan, Maria and Maddie were held at gunpoint by Jackson Montgomery's shooter, Flanders. While Aidan fought Flanders, the yacht ran aground and exploded. Aidan survived, but the trauma of almost losing her child made Maria's memory completely return. Maria broke off her relationship with Aidan and returned to Edmund.

Michael Cambias, Pine Valley's resident villain, raped Kendall's sister Bianca. After Michael's release, Aidan was determined to look after Kendall in order to stop her from going after Michael. The two grew closer and began a relationship. Kendall shocked Pine Valley when, the day after Michael was released from charges of raping Bianca, she announced she was married to him! Aidan suspected that Kendall was concealing information from him. With the discovery of Michael's dead body, Aidan devoted his energies to making sure Kendall didn't pay for the crime. Mia Saunders, interested in Aidan herself, revealed to Aidan that Kendall had spent the night with former fiancée Ryan Lavery. Hurt, Aidan and Kendall parted ways, but he remained determined to keep her from going to jail. Mia grew closer to Aidan, and the two began to date.

Mia was paranoid that Aidan still had feelings for Kendall, but Aidan constantly assured her that his relationship with Kendall was over. Aidan hid Fred Lomax, a potentially damning witness against Kendall in her trial for Michael's murder. Mia, convinced Kendall and Aidan were having an affair, accidentally released Lomax. While the blow to Kendall's case was minimal, Aidan was so angry with Mia that he broke up with her.

Aidan and Edmund grew to be good friends, as Aidan was a means of support for Edmund during his struggle with paralysis. Maria's sister, Anita, returned to town and was initially wary of Aidan (given his past with Maria), but the two became friends. Aidan was a true support for Anita as she went through the dissolution of her marriage to Bobby, and he admitted that he had feelings for her. The two began dating.

Lily Montgomery, an autistic teenager, developed a friendship with Aidan and wanted him to be her boyfriend. Aidan was unsure of how to handle the situation, but Anita identified that Lily was simply looking for Aidan for a friend that was a boy (hence boyfriend). Aidan's influence over Lily was a positive one, so he agreed to be her boyfriend. Soon, Lily's crush grew to romantic feelings and she wanted to kiss Aidan. She learned that Aidan and Anita were dating and was hurt. Aidan felt terrible about hurting Lily.

When Edmund was murdered, Zach Slater was arrested for the crime. Aidan was not convinced he was guilty. Soon Braden Lavery was fingered for the crime, and Aidan worked along with Ryan to bring Braden to justice.
