Summer nights spent staring at the sky We were alone there just you and I Holding each other close or laying side by side Listening to the changing tides Hearts racing as we kissed Never realizing how much it would be missed Arms circling around me or simply holding hands Everywhere you touched was always covered in sand Laughing and smiling when life was without a care Or whispering to each other our hopes and our fears Hours spent watching for shooting stars Never making a wish because bliss was already ours But summers warmth could not last And now endless time together is a thing of the past And though the distance seems to keep us far apart We’re always close together in our minds and in our hearts I dream of the summer that is to be When you will be here next to me My love for you will stay true Till we’re together again just me and you. © 2004, Kimberly Baker .Back. |
