King's Quest #6:
Land of the Green Isles
You arrive on a beach.
Look around. Do some workouts. No weights? You'll just have to make do with what's there. Pick up any interesting shiny things.
Walk up the hill. You come to a fork in the trail. What's that bg white building in the distance? It looks promising.
What do you have to show that guards? They won't just take you on your word. When you get inside, keep a watch on the turbaned guy in the middle of the picture.
Well, that's that. No use trying to break down the door. You'll have to find another way to get in later. For now, have a look at what's down the other fork of the road.
Talking to people is a good idea. In fact, talk to everyone you find, until they start repeating themselves. You get some pretty good information out of some people. Poke around in the bookshop. And do you have anything of value for the pawnshop owner?
Go visit the man you heard about from the bookshop owner. But be careful. There's some weird types around. If you stare people right in the eyes you can usually tell if they're sent to lead you astray. If you don't pick up something from the boat, you'll regret it later.
The pawnshop owner has something you'll need to get around. When you get it, have a look in other places.  You'll find someone else to talk to on the Isle of Wonder, but no-one else in sight on any of the other islands, although there are things you need to get there. Pick up anything in plain sight. At this time it's probably not a good idea to go exploring further than the first screen on each island. Besides, didn't the pawnshop owner say he had some old magical stuff to dump out?

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to give you a clue about the Isle of Wonder. There's guards. They are the embodiments of the five senses, and if any one of them realises you're human, you're done for. You'll have to find a way to fool each sense. The pawn shop is again a useful place to find help. Also, ask the bookshop owner.
Well once the guards are gone... have a decent look around this time. There are a couple of dangers on the island so saving the game is a good idea. You can get something to cancel out a magic obstacle on the Isle of the Beast here. Something to throw is a good idea too. And don't you need a rare book? But be careful who you touch on this island.

If you have your ring back, have a nice chat with the new person in the bookshop. He could give you an interesting idea. What do you think would interest a bird like that?

There's a couple of things on the Isle of the Beast that could come in handy sometime. Both of them are past the first obstacle. Don't pay attention to people with hooves!

The cliffs on the Sacred Mountain aren't too hard if you read the manual (and it would take a LOT of trial and error to do this otherwise, believe me) and consider that you want to go UP them. Do be careful on the steps, and watch people's eyes when they talk to you - it's good manners. The little cave is not strictly necessary but it's fun. And it shows you the thing from the pawn shop that you're going to need later up here. Don't walk along the path until you're sure you have it.

There's a few more things you need from the Isle of Wonder. If you've been to the Isle of the Beast lately you should have something the Bookworm might want.  Now you can get that book you saw in the Bookshop on the Isle of the Crown. Also, have a look round in the garden, playing a lively little tune may enable you to get something unexpected.

Now hopefully you're just about ready to go 'down the hole'. Go and talk to the inhabitants of the Isle of Wonder - as long as you say "I am ready" you'll be fine. Saving the game and making a map is a good idea. The top level is a bit dangerous (the manual comes in handy again) and the bottom level can be dangerous for a whole new reason.

When you manage to get over all of that you've come out with a few new posessions. One of them is just made to stop arrows - remind you of anything? But before that, have a close look at the map.

The Isle of the Mists is a pretty busy place at the moment, and it's probably not a good idea to go near the party at the moment. The things you need now are just inside the village.

Time to go back to the Isle of Wonder to get a few more spell ingredients and to the Isle of the Beast for the next couple of challenges. Always stop and smell the roses on the walk of life, it could save yours. Don't you know someone else who likes roses? Maybe a gift would be appropriate.

Before you leave the Isle of the Beast after you've been released, utilise the fountain. You should now be able to make the first spell. Once that's done, you can proceed to the Isle of the Mists again.
