Cozumel Island, Quintana Roo, Mexico:
It's the largest Island in the Republic of Mexico. It lies about 14 km off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, in the State of Quintana Roo.
On February 1999, we went to Cozumel to expand our skills and knowledge necessary to safely continue our exploration of the lakes, rivers, and oceans of the world...
With Del Mar Aquatics, we tooked a course and obtained our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Cetification. Our private instructor was Luis Morales. The program was 5 dives: Underwater Navigation, Search & Rocovery, Night dive, Drift dive (Tormentos Reef), Deep dive (Santa Rosa Wall) by boat. After this course was finished, we added two others dives by boat: Deep (Palancar Reef) and Drift (Yucab Reef) dives.

On February 28 to March 09, 2003, we had returned to Isla Cozumel, Mexico: one week to dive and one week to visit the island.
In 5 days, he dove 10 dives on different dive sites: The Palancar Reefs, Paso del Cedral, Santa Rosa Walls, Los Baracudas, Los Palmas, etc. We encounted a nurse shark, a geant manta ray, sea stars, 2 snikes, octopus, turtles, and shoals of fishes.
We used the "Dive Paradise", in front of The Brisas hotel (before Costa Club), near San Miguel, Cozumel, Mexico. We really enjoyed our dive trip (9 day dives and 1 night dive). We hope to get wet soon...
Cozumel Island is respected as one of the best diving sites in the world. Due to the recent protection of the reef as a national park, fish are abundant. Huge Groupers and Jew Fish swim right up to inspect their human visitors. The water is crystal clear - with visibility up to 150 feet - due to the ever present swift current.
Tips: When picking a group to dive with, try to dive with divers around the same level to get the most out of your dive.
