There are many more kinds of games, either for the computer, or for several people to play.
There are PBM or PBEM games.
These require constant comminication between the players and the moderators.
Possible games range from SciFi conquests to historically based wargames like Diplomacy.
There are boardgames galore.
Everything from Battletech to Wabbit Wampage exists.
My personal favorites are BattleCattle and BlackDeath.
There are noncollectable card games such as Lunchmoney, where the players are little girls fighting it out in the school yard.
There are MUSHES and MOOS for online Role Playing.
I once even found a Transformer MOO online.
There are miniture battle systems that use lead or plastice figures for soldiers.
I've always liked Warhammer 40K in particular.
I even own a system called Toy Wars that lets you dig out your old toys and fight it out with them.
