Eulogy for the Army of Angmar

Carved into the very stone of the mighty gates that lie shattered before you is a sign, lamenting the closure of the ominous stronghold of the Army of Angmar that once held sway over the entire region of the Misty Mountains, and Shire that lies spread out before the mountains.

Great care has been taken with the carving of the sign, and it looks like it will last for many centuries, as long as the very rocks of the Misty Mountains survive. Blowing at the dust that has settled into some of the letters, you read the message left for adventurers like you, who have made the trek to this place of legend.

ANGMAR ANGMAR ANGMAR, forever!

Sad days these are indeed. The immortals have finally accomplished something which the entire alliance failed to do over a period of 4 years. Bring the Mighty Army of Angmar to a close. Our war, a last imprint of the Army's might will forever be known as our greatest and final stand. But now, during these hard times, we are forced from our beds to roam Middle Earth without the Army to bind us together. The alliance believes this to be a small victory. A victory which they have yet to achieve during this entire war.

However, AA shall never die. Angmar was never about the skills, titles, or abilities. The Army was about it's members. We created the most unique bunch of soldiers the realms have ever seen and all parts of Genesis were influenced by our ever action. None were without knowledge of our stregnth and our loyalty. We, in the end, were always loyal to each other. Many times I entrusted my life in the hands of another soldier and never once was my blood shed in vain.

Of course, the immortals attempted to play our closure off on the fact that the Dark Lord has turned his back upon us because of our treachery and lack of loyalty?! WE, were the brave souls who actually sought action against the defenders of the west. It was us who diligently crushed their forces time after time. WE, were the true minions of the Dark Lord.

The Army of Angmar rose to power upon the shoulders of the both humans and goblins alike. Our merciless, yet well trained, soldiers united and put the fear back into _His_ name. Now we find ourselves without a home and without an Army to come home to. However, let it be known by all, that the Army shall NEVER perish and even as we fight our enemies among the ranks of other guilds, we will always fight in the name of Angmar.

As for the influence which the Army had on the realms...It can never be questioned. No Knight, Calian, or Ranger can ever say that the game will be a better place without us. We gave them meaning and a common enemy, just as they gave us one as well. There will never be another AA, only a new guild of brutes whom will fight for the Dark Lord. Consider this a final farewell to the realms for the Mighty Army. I know, that we were more apart of Genesis than any other person, guild, weapon, area, or even Domain ever was.

Our model helped mould a very large portion of the guilds within the realms. They shaped themselves to cater to us. As the Knight's say. "Good cannot exist without evil". Exactly, and from this moment on, the Alliance will cease to have a real influential meaning within the realms. They will merely become another Gladiator guild, only with an emphasis on roleplaying to NPC's.

Long live the Army of Angmar!

Pennywise, the proud soldier of the Greatest guild to ever exist.

Turning away from the carvings on the gates, you can look around the entrance to the stronghold again if you wish.

Alternatively, if you know where you wish to head within the halls, you may consult your site map to take you straight there.
