COMBAT MECHANICS





The to-hit roll is the basic building block of the combat mechanics.
The attacker will roll his basic task resolution roll using the skill
based on what type of attack he is preforming with a 1d20 instead of 1d10.
The defender then rolls a modified version of a task resolution roll again
using a 1d20 but the bonuses to the roll are Evasion, Dodge, and Cover.
Tie goes to the defender.






Attacker: 1d20 + Attribute bonus + Skill bonus + Weapon and Range modifiers.

Defender: 1d20 + Evasion + Dodge + Cover + Armor AC


The Attribute bonus will be eather AGL for hand attacks or archery or REF for firearms.
Skill bonus will be based on type of attack. (ie. a revolver uses the pistols skill.)
Weapon bonus is a factor of the weapon's inherent accuracy an special sights used.
Range modifyers are the type of attack and the effect range has on accuracy.


Evasion is based on agility.
Cover is a factor of position and intervining cover.
Dodge is +2 pr. AP spent on the previous turn for dodgeing.
      Thus no dodges are available on the first turn.
AC is a bonus applied from armors abulity to deflect attacks.

Cover:
A target is under cover when atleast 50% of the body is coverd.
When a target is in cover you may target the exposed portions of the body at the normal
penaltys (loaction penalty and the postiton modifier) or you may shoot with the postion
penalty only and the defender gets to add the cover's DP bounis. Remember that if you
miss a targeted shot you miss totaly.

Degrading cover:
As cover is damaged by fire it degrades just like armor, and it takes the degrade until
the cover is destroyed then the target had better find some more cover or rely on his
armor.
