Basic Vehicle Hacks

These hacks are all for the VCF files. I assume this stands for Vehicle Configuration File. There are two types of VCF's, ones that you create in I76, and the ones for the vehicles included with the game. To edit a car you created, goto your addon directory and edit one of the VCF's there, they will usually be called something like vcmanta4.vcf, this would load the fourth variant of the manta, the first three are the basic cars included with the game. The bus will start at vxbus2.vcf. To hack one of the cars included with the game you must first extract it out of the I76.ZFS. To do this use our other program Pack76. You must place this file in your Addon directory. You could also hack the original in the ZFS, but I suggest leaving it alone, as a backup and/or default. That way if you want to un-hack your basic cars, you could delete the hacked copy or temporarily rename it. You must hack each car you wish to change, for example the file below will only affect the first Manta variant. When you create your own variants in I76, please save them with as many weapons and specials as you would like to have on your hacked vehicle, otherwise the VCF will not have a spot to put one. For example the file below has no space for specials, but the one on the bottom of the page was saved with three specials. We do not guarantee this information to be 100% accurate, this is just what we have found to work or been told will work. If you know something is inaccurate or missing, please let us know. Finally, the extended hex values need to be plugged in backwards, so if you wanted to enter in 89 AB CD EF you would need to type in EF CD AB 89.

TR.......... This is the variant name. This name can be up to 15 characters long. *
vcmanta.vdf. This is the name of the VDF file that the configuration file calls. If you change this to another VDF the program will load the other vehicle type. I do not suggest this, it does not always work right, the easiest way to get another vehicle type, is to get one of its VCF's out of the I76.ZFS file, and rename it to one of your existing variants. If you pull out a vehicle with more than four tires (Milktruck), I suggest making it one of your Moth truck variants. If not you may wind up with weird ghost tires dragging behind whatever vehicle you saved it as. Do not change this to a name that does not exist on everyone's machine, or you will not be seen, be able to hurt anyone, and no one will be able to hurt you. You will be able to see everyone else and chat with them. This may be in a future version of Hack76 as an observer mode, let us know if you want it. This name can be up to 12 characters long. *
manta1.vtf.. This is the name of the paint file the VCF calls. This is what you change to load up another vehicles paintjob. This works in net play without anyone having to download anything. If you create a custom paintjob, everyone will see you as the original paintjob, unless they each have the same custom paint job, saved under the same name. Do not change this to a name that does not exist on everyone's machine, or you will crash games! This name can be up to 12 characters long. *

These values are for the engine, suspension, and brakes, in that order. Range is from 00 to 03. 00 being the least powerful and 03 being the most powerful.

These are the names of the wheel files the VCF calls. This is what you change to load up another vehicles wheels. The first name is for the front wheels and the last name is for the rear wheels. The null in the middle is for vehicles with a third set of wheels, like the Moth truck. I am not sure what effect changing this to a name not on everyone's machine will do to a net game. I will test and let you know in the future. This name can be up to 12 characters long. *

00 00 00 00 This value is for left over armor or chassis (how much you could still add to your car). If you are hacking your car, there really is no need to add anything to this, just add it straight to your armor or chassis. Range is from 00 00 00 00 to FF FF FF FF.

These values are for the placement of the weapon that follows. Currently I do not know if these are standard for every car or not. I will test and let you know in the future. Range is from 00 to 04.

These are the names of the weapons files the VCF calls. This is what you change to load up a different weapon. Not all weapons are available in single player games, some will only show up on net games. I am not sure what effect changing this to a name not on everyone's machine will do to a net game. I will test and let you know in the future. This name can be up to 12 characters long. *

* if you change this name, it is best to 0 out the hex left over after the name. So if your maximum was 12 characters long and you put in a 10 character name, you would have to 0 out the remaining characters in hex. To do this you would have to find the end of your name in the hex portion and add two 0 for every character left. In the above example you would have to add 00 00 to the end of the filename in hex. Sorry if this is confusing, just use Hack76. : )

One more thing:

Part of a VCF that was saved with specials.

These values are for the special items. Range is from 00 to 09. You can load up items like nitro up to three times, giving you 9 nitro bursts instead of 3.
