Mimi is Drew's nemesis. From day one, they've hated each other. Drew tried to keep her from being
hired, trashing her application. They've been at each other's throats since. They frequently fire insults
back at one another, mostly cheesy weight jokes. They do share a kind moment on occasion, but just
like Tom and Jerry, they're back at each other's throats by the next episode.

An accomplished star of the stage and the big screen, Kathy Kinney's comedic career began in New
York as an improvisationist at local clubs. A big break for her came in 1986 when friend Bill Sherwood
wrote the film Parting Glance in which she was cast. The film led to other offers, and she moved to LA
in 1987. She made numerous guest appearances in classic series such as Seinfeld and The Larry
Sanders Show.

Kathy's first major recurring role on a sitcom was in 1980 on Newhart, a sitcom starring Bob Newhart,
playing Miss Goddard, the town librarian for two seasons.

Originally, the character of Mimi was to play a very small role in the series during the show's first
season. However, after her character and Carey's character began their ever-escalating feud, the
laughs the duo brought made Kinney's Mimi persona an invaluable member of the cast.
