| 15/1/07 Trio Finally, my trio album 'Seventh Sense' featuring Arnie Somogyi (bass) and Stephen Keogh (drums) has been pressed on the Basho Records label. It is officially not released until later in the year but copies are available through private sale (contact me should you wish to purchase one - can only buy through me directly at moment, sorry) I expect to be touring it to coincide with the release this yeat. The front cover photo is shown left! Other Projects The band 'Ambulance' with Arnie Somogyi (bass), Dave Smith (drums) and Paul Booth (sax) and Rob Townsend (sax/flute) will be touring quite a lot this year - in May in particular when we will be joined by special guest Eddie Henderson (trumpeter with Herbie Hancock in the 70's). We were recently artists in residence at the Snape Maltings in Suffolk where we collaborated on new material. During the week we also worked with saxophonist Rob Townsend (also guesting on the Ronnies' gigs) who added new colour to the band with the help of his laptop and sampling equipment. I am also collaborating with the talented up-and- coming young starlet Polly Gibbons (vocals) with the intention of recording an album soon. The material will be largely blues and soul-influenced jazz and consist mainly of original songs. |
