The  MALAMPHY Homepage
The world-wide family reunion of the O'Maolanfaidh Clan was a huge Success!
Thanks to Peggy Larsen for putting it all together.  I'll be adding some pictures of the reunion here as soon as I get some.  Please send me a scanned jpeg version or a copy if you attended and would like to share.
This page is being built to facilitate a gathering of the O'Maolanfaidh Clan. This includes most people with the surname Malamphy / Molamphy / Mullamphy / and  Mellamphy among others.  These are all Anglicized spellings of the original Irish name, and we're pretty sure we're all related.  We originated along Loch Derg (The Shannon River) in County Tipperary, Ireland.  Some family members still reside there in the village of Coolbawn.  Others migrated to Canada, America, and New Zealand.  We had a gathering in Frederick, Maryland in  August 2001. At that gathering, Dan Mellamphy, from New Zealand, presented a history of the family back to about 600 AD.  I will try to make transcripts of his presentation available on these pages. Please write me if you have any information you'd like to share about our family, or if you'd like some.  My branch of the family begins with Michael J. Malamphy who emigrated to America in the late 1800's and settled in Cumberland, Maryland.
