2-12 Wolfpack Basketball finally get's a little recognition. Two wins last week over UVA and FSU, both by comfortable margins. NCSU is now 8-2 in ACC play. We're ranked 21 in the AP poll(mysteriously ranked behind WFU, UNC, and GaTech who we lead by a wide margin in the conference standings) but still no love from the coaches. Both ESPN's weekly RPI and CollgeRPI.com have us ranked 19 in the RPI. Joe Lunardi has us as a 4th seed, and CollgeRPI.com as a 3 seed in their tourny brackets. Wolfpack are also slated as a 3 seed in ESPN.com's power 16 ranking. Pack play the Dookies on Sunday, which is set up to be a defining point in the ACC season this year. Will Dook run the gauntlet in the last year of true ACC roundrobin, or will the Pack start chippin' away at that 2 game lead, and position for a possible ACC Title? We'll see on sunday. Compelling Drama!
See also the story on GOPack.com about the team now gelling as one unit. Can u say '83??? It's too early to make any predictions, but we have played really well in the last 4 games. As I said earlier, we'll see on Sunday, SUNDAY, Sunday!
2-5 football recruiting news. the pack had a great signing day yesterday, netting the nations top defensive end, Demario Pressley. The wolfpack's recruiting class is ranked 20th Nationally by Insiders.com and CNN/Sports Illustrated.
2-5 wolfpack upset #16 Wake Forest to claim sole possession of 2nd in the ACC, furthering my argument from yesterday...
2-4 why are the wolfpack not ranked? despite a 5-2 record and a SECOND PLACE standing in the ACC, the pack is not ranked in the human polls, while the three teams BELOW the pack in the ACC leaderboard are ranked nationally. But i'm learning that in college hoops, the polls are pretty insignificant and arbitrary. RPI is a better measure. It is based on your team's record and figures in their strength of schedule. So the Wolfpack, having a 12-5 record (0.622) against the 16th hardest schedule in the country is ranked 26 in the RPI currently. Purdue, who is ranked 21st in the arbitrary human polls has a 14-6 record (0.569) against the 101st hardest schedule in the country. In summary, their record is worse than the Pack, and their competition is lousy, so why in the world are they ranked? Good question...

here's an article that shows the Dems are dirty liars... "they continuously exaggerate the negatives about President Bush and refuse to acknowledge the positives of his administration"... but to say that they are merely, "exaggerating" is definitely being very gracious to them. here's another article that shows the same thing.
