Divine Promise of Assistance |

God promised to stand by Joshua no matter what he did. Then Joshua told the officers of his people to prepare provisions for three days from now we will cross the Jordan. |

Spies Saved by Rahab |
|
|
Joshua sent out two spies and they took shelter in a harlot's house named Rahab. The king of Jericho found out that she waas sheltering them he told her to throw them out. Rahab lied to them and told them they had already left and hid the spies. Rahab asked the spies for her family to be spared. They told her to tie a scarlet rope to the window then went up to the hills until their pursuers returned. |

Memorial Stones and Rites at Gilgal |

|
Joshua had a volunteer from each tribe take a stone up from the Jordan. The people came up from the Jordon on the tenth day of the first month and camped in Gligal. At Gilgal they set up these stones. At Gilgal the Lord told Moses to circumcise all the males. When the circumcision was done they remained in their places at camp till they healed. |
