Introduction To My Interpretation Of: Psalms 23 |
|||||||||||||
I want to let you in on a secret.. Now you must assure yourself that you will guard this secret in your heart. Keep it safe. Let no one sneak in and steal it away. This is a secret about the Bible. Or better yet a secret about misunderstanding of the Bible. The whole world thinks that the 23rd. Chapter of Psalms was written for the dead. No! Absolutely NOT! Do you know what I have found? It was written for THE LIVING! This piece of scripture is the most ill Quoted verse in the Bible. You here it at funerals everyday all across America. It is presented to us everywhere as though, in the valley of physical death, God is walking us through. The verse really speaks of God walking with us through the valley of spiritual death. This being the death that sin brings man. It says that even though we, His people, sin He will never leave us. He is always there. He supplies us with everything we need. He will guide us through the paths of righteousness. Please read my arrangement. I put this together many years ago. It helps me when I take time to reflect back on it. I pray God will bring to light some greater understanding of Him, us, and our dependency on what he says. For His Name Sake Chorus Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. Though I walk through the valley in the shadow of sin, His Rod and staff comforts me. In life's troubles, sorrows, unknown tomorrows I know He abides with me. Verse 1: The Lord is my shepherd. My needs are fulfilled. He lies me down in green pastures. He leads me beside the waters so still. And restores my soul. verse 2: The paths of righteousness He guides me through. Has anointed my head with oil. In presence of enemies prepares me a table. My cup over flows. Musical interlude: chorus: Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. Though I walk through the valley in the shadow of sin, His rod and staff comforts me. verse 3: Surly goodness and mercy always will follow Through all the days of my life. Forever dwell in the house of the Lord. Praise His Holy name! chorus: Although I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. Though I walk through the valley in the shadow of sin, His rod and staff comforts me. In life's troubles, sorrows unknown tomorrows I know he abides with me. In life's troubles, sorrows unknown tomorrows I know He abides with me. Timothy G. Me |
