ROYAL INTERNATIONAL AIR TATOO - RAF Cottesmore 2000
Resurfacing work at Fairford caused re-location to RAF Cottesmore.  The low cloudbase put paid to most of the flying display.  It was the coldest "summer" day I can remember!  I did not take many flying pics.

Embraer/Aeritalia AMX
This Italian and Brazillian aircraft served admirably in the Kosovo operation. As a result they are being upgraded to deliver Precision Guded Munitions.  This fabulous paint job is from 51Stormo, the "Indians".
Antonov AN26
This Russian aircraft is the mainstay of most eastern block  transort fleets.  this one is from the Slovak Airforce.
Antonov AN72
This sprightly little transport is designed to operate from just about any airfield.  Excellent short field performace and frightening manauverability make this a fantastic  plane.  This one is from the Ukraine.
Hercules W2
This unique Herc is operated by DERA and is a weather research aircraft.  It has operated all over the world gathering data to better understand weather patterns.
C137
Another Boeing 707 tanker conversion.  This one is from the Brazillian Airforce.  It has a hose and drogue refueling pod under each wing tip.

Lockheed/Aleina C27J Spartan
The USAF leased some Italian G222  transports for use at Howard AFB in the Panama Canal zone.  They needed a unique aircraft to operate from small unprepared strips.  When they pulled out of the canal zone the worn out old planes were retired but the USAF was suitably impressed soLockheed teamed up with Aleina to build a modernised version of the G222.  The C27J shown here is one of the first prototypes.
CN235A MPA
The hugely popular CN235 medium transport is used as a Maritime Patrol Aircraft by the Irish Air Corps.
