This French carrier bourne fighter bomber became infamous during the Falklands war and the Iran Iraq war for its Exocet Missile attacks on shipping. They fly from the French Carrier Foch but will gradually be replaced bt the new Rafale M on the brand new nuclear powered carrier Charles de Gaulle.
The F5 was devised as a cheap, high performance fighter for export. In the 60's this fighter recieved a baptism of fire in Vietnam, serving with the South Vietnamise Airforce. It was widely exported all over the world. This example is used by the Royal Norwegian Airforce.
The venerable Harrier has come a long way from the early genius of Sidney Camms Hawker Kestrel. The Harrier was chosen by the United States Marine Corps in the 70's. Together with British Aerospace the simple light attack has evolved into a multi role VsTOL fighter. This version has the APG65 mutimode radar. It is capable of carrying the medium range AMRAAM missile which adds air inteception to its night/all weather attack capabilities.
This Russian military transport is opereated by the Ukraine. They have a useful load capacity and useful short field performance.
This is probably the most beautiful aircraft ever built. The Hunters classic lines were from the same pen as those of the WW2 stalwart the Hurricane and also the Harrier. This aircraft is actually the personal aircraft of the late King Hussein of Jordan.
The King was a patron of the Royal International Air Tattoo. He also supported scholarships to train disabled flyers, to the degree that he actually did some instruction himself! much to the consternation of his aides. Imagine being given a flying lesson by a world leader!
There was a flypast to commemorate his sad passing. Queen Noor and his son were present at the show. They flypast consisted of the Jordainian Falcons display team (Extra 300) and the kings own DeHavilland Dove . He was flying this aircraft when Syrian MiGs tried to force the plane down in 1958. The flypast was followed by a formation of jaguars from No6 SQN RAF. The King had strong links with the RAF who taught him to fly. He is a very sad loss to the world.
