Buddy Walk News
Despite the early hour, more than 1000 people turned up for the Great Singapore Buddy Walk to do their bid for charity.
Participants gathered at the Youth Park in Somerset Road for an energetic  warm-up led by the Down Syndrome Association children before the walk.
Senior Palimentary Secretary for Community and Development and Sports Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon then flagged off the event.
Also lending their support were Channel News Asia's News Presenters and sports personalities.
The Buddy Walk originated in the US and this is the second time it's being held here. Lasting about half an hour the walk took the participants through Orchard Road and back to the Youth Park.
The activities continued with fun and games and performances by DSA members. A lucky draw was held and lucky participants walked away with prizes from the kind people of Starhub, Fox Hair Salon, Nike Singpore and other sponsors.
