Tim Brown's KR2S | ||||||||||||||
The construction of this plane began in the late 70s followed shortly thereafter by receiving the brochures from Rand Robinson. This went on hold due to marriage and family and then began anew in 2000.

Once the decision was made I met with Jeanette and bought the KR2 manual and 2S supplements and learned of Aircraft Spruce which was located about 10 miles from work. I took the wood list I needed to AS&S and picked it up a few days before Labor Day, 2000. While waiting, I cleaned the garage and built a 16' workbench. So, here is the begining...workbench, spruce and the almighty T-88. |
This is the beginning of all things...top longeron, bottom longeron and structural truss pieces.

Morning coffee and the first piece of plywood skin has been applied.
Using wood scraps to clamp the top and bottom longerons to the truss members....with wax paper underneath to prevent the T-88 from causing a slight weight problem...the worbench permanently attached to the plane. |
