WING SPAR CONSTRUCTION
marine varnish for moisture protection
Before installation of the top skin piece, the interior must be protected from moisture. I settled on marine grade varnish which is why the interior in this photo looks a little darker.  On the top skin itself I squeegeed on a very thin coat of T-88, then added more to the skin and caps before clamping on the top skin.
Again note the interior color difference between the spar on the right and the one on the left.
clamps, clamps, and more clamps.
A KR builder will never have enough clamps.  My solution was to tell anyone and everyone for Christmas that my list began and ended with gift certificates from Home Depot....or for wood clamps, spring clamps, or bar clamps.  As you can see, I was successful.
