When loneliness overtakes me, crushing me beneath the hurt, embrace me ever so tenderly Surround me with Your love. When dreams have all gone amiss, it seems I haven't got a prayer, remind me of your great promise. Help me Lord to delight in You. I search and still detect not a friend, looking both to the left and to the right, You promise to be to me untill the end, a friend sticking closer than a brother. Comfort me with Your healing balm, shower me with love like no one can, keeping me contented, cool, and calm, through this drought of hopelessness. Lord, You are my strength when I am weak, my consolidation whenever I am distressed. When I need assurance, be the One I seek, Come and rescue me now as I look to You. Take me to our secret meeting place, find me there abiding in Your shadow, where I will freely receive Your grace. Lord, I come now boldly to Your throne. ©TinasHeart 9/26/01 |
