Buenas! You are meeting a 'wishful handweaver', her long suffering family..."you're doing WHAT?"..., and their 18 acre homestead, located in north Florida. We've been here some 27 years~our farm is mostly woods and creek, with owls and whipporwills by night, and bluebirds and cardinals by day...oh, did i fergit the deer and turkeys and squirrels an' ........? We have two Jersey milk cows, Bambi and Buttercup; a Y kshire mama pig, Cordelia, with her current litter, Hambone, Porkchop......; a grumpy rooster and his ladies; assorted ducks and rabbits. Ummmmm, and i'm working on getting some sheepes! :).....for my spinning wheel, Elsabet, and my floor loom, Hephzibah. My husband, Urban, is very patient and perseveres inspite of my cravings for wool and yarn and STUFF! The children, Sean (35) Jessica (32) and Rebecca (28) have their own lifestyles and homes, in Florida too, jes' a whoop n' holler away, a fact that my husband and I find very pleasing. Our homestead, named Tingo Maria, reflects our interests and values: respecting the Earth and Her gifts; God, who has put all into motion; and our need to stay close to the Earth and Sky and Water, being and letting be. |
