"Nothing can stop that now. Just for once let me look on you with my own eyes."
As the Rebellion prepares a strategy to destroy the Empire once and for all, our heroes confront Jabba the Hutt and successfully save their friend Han. With the team back together, they can focus their efforts on a new Death Star that the Empire has begun constructing.
Meanwhile, Luke is informed by Yoda and Obi-wan that he must confront Darth Vader if any attempt is to be made against the Emperor. If the Emperor can be destroyed, balance can, once again, return to the light side of the Force. Luke has trouble accepting the fact that he must face his father. Regardless, he decides to team up with his friends once again on an offensive against the Empire.
The rebels decide on a two prong attack. While one small team attempts to take out the shield generator that protects the Death Star on the moon of Endor, the rest of the rebel fleet will arrive when the shield is down to destroy the Death Star where the Emperor is currently located. Unfortunately, the Emperor has foreseen his plot and plans a trap for our heroes.
With only moments to spare, our heroes are able to destroy the shield generator on the moon of Endor allowing the rebel fleet to attack the Death Star and minimize their loses against the trap that the Empire executed so successfully. On the Death Star, Luke confronts Vader and wins. He does not kill his father and in this act of compassion, Vader turns to the light side of the Force and kills the Emperor to protect his son. Vader brings balance to the force and dies from his injuries while Luke escapes the Death Star with his father’s body before the Rebellion destroys the Death Star. Our heroes celebrate their victory on the moon of Endor as the entire galaxy rejoices.
