Uh Oh!  Here she goes!

I have an opinion for every subject, but bear in mind that I have not yet died so my opinions are subject to revision as new information arrives.  What you see is not always what will be here tomorrow.

Dive right in with

sex

Let's ignore STDs and pregnancy for the moment.  Those can be tackled after the real problem is taken care of.

The real problem is that sex has been removed from the realm of nature and placed in the realm of morality.  No need to quote the Bible for me.  The Bible has little to say about sex itself.  What The Bible mentions is procreation, which is normally accomplished by engaging in heterosexual union.

Apparently God wanted the people in the Bible to multiply so He forbade everything that could not end in conception -- including intercourse during the first few days after a woman's menstration ended.  Does anyone really think we need more people today?  I didn't think so.

But back to the point.  Sexuality is as natural as breathing, eating and eliminating and for optimum sexual health it should be treated the same way.  Yes, we breathe and eat freely in public but we can be and are taught to eliminate discreetly.  No mentally healthy person thinks elimination is "evil" -- they just think it's private.

We need to do away with the dilemma of treating sex as desirable on one hand and bad on the other.  Using sex to sell everything from cars to floor cleaner (don't tell me that Mr.Clean is big, handsome and helpful just by accident) and then telling children, especially girls, that it is dangerous, dirty and likely to end in disaster makes it very hard to sort out.

Some of you are old enough to remember "Good girls don't.  Nice girls do."  and sayings like it.  Aw, come on.  Healthy human beings DO.
