| (7.) Ahab Ahab,the son of Omri,begins his reign over Israel,after the death of his father .Ahab,exceeded all his predeccessors in wickness....He did evil above all that were before him.Ahad did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel,to anger than all of Israels kings. King Ahab, married,Jezebel,a zealous idolater,extremely,imperious and malicious in her natural temper.She was addicted to witchcrafts and and whoredoms and vicious in every way. Jezebel,was a Phoenician, princess,daughter of Ethbaal,king of Sidon,as the wife of Ahab,king of Israel,she became the power behind the throne. She established idolatry worship with zealous and wicked means. she had prophets of Jehovah,killed,she used false judicial actions and had Naboth murder,so Kinh Ahab,could have his vineyard. Elijah,was the prophet of the inhabitants,of Gilead,on the other side of Jordon,he was from the tribe of Gad,or half tride of Manasseh. Elijah,was called the Tishbite prophet. Elijah foretold of a famine with which Israel would be punished for their sins. He proclaimed, it to King Ahab,in whose power it was to reform the land,inorder to prevent the judgment of God from coming upon them.Unless he epents and reforms ,these judgments will be brought upon his land, neither dew,nor rain. Elijah tells King Ahab,that Jehovah is the God of Israel,whom he had forsaken. And that He ,is a living God,and the idol gods that he worshipped ,are dead dumb idols.And that he (Elijah) was God's servant in office,sent by God,"Saying that God was displeased with them for their idolatry." God provided for Elijah,by having the ravens feed him by the brook Cherith,that is by Jordon. Elijah,tells King Ahab,that he is the one that troubles Israel,not him......".How long shalt thou halt between two opinions?..... If the Lord be God follow him: but if Baal then follow him..." God,sent fire from heaven and consumed the burnt sacrifice,the wood,dust,and licked up the water...... When all the people saw it; they fell on their faces: and said, " The Lord,he is the God; the Lord,he is God........." Jezebel sends a message to Elijah saying,"So let the gods, do to me, and more also,if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time....." Elijah,found Elisha,and he followed Elijah and ministered unto him.....King Ahab and King Ben-hadad of Syria; were against one another, but later made a covenant with each other. Naboth,is killed ,King Ahab is told by the prophet .....that where the doge licked the blood of Naboth so shall dogs lick thy blood...and also the dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel. After hearing these words ...King Ahab humbleth himself..... The Lord said seest how Ahab humbleth himself beforee me, I will not bring the evil in his days :but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house......For three years they had no war with Syria.-Then King Ahab and King Jehoshapat,king of Judah, joined togather in battle against King Ben-hadad of Syria.......... Ahab disquised himself and entered the battle...But the arrow of the Lord found Ahab; and smote him between the joints of the harness:... King Ahab,died that even:...and the blood ran out of the chariot... Ahab was brought to Samaria; and buried there.... at the pool of Samaria; while one washed the chariot;dogs licked up his blood.......... King Ahab,is first one, that word is mentioned of as building an ivory house:he built cities-reared up an altar for Baal-and built an house of Baal in Samaria,plus made pagan shines........Ivory was imported into Palestine by King Solomon; it was used for his throne.Amos,speaks of ivory beds, it was used also for building houses. Psalms speaks of palaces adorned with ivory..... Reigned: King Ahab reigned over Israel for twent-two (22) years in Samaria; that his faater King Omri had built. King Ahab slept with his fathers and his son Ahaziah,reigns in his stead. |

| (8) Ahaziah Ahaziah,the son of King Ahab, sets on the throne of Israel, as her next king. He was the son of King Ahad, he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and walked in the ways of his father, Ahad; and in the way of his mother Jezebel and in the way of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, who made Iserael to sin. He served Baal and worshipped him, and provoked to anger, the Lord God of Israel; the same as all his fathers had done. In the second year of Ahazriah's reign, Moab rebelled against Israel; and Ahazriah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick : He sent messagers to Ekron to inquire of Baalzebub, the god of Ekron, as whether or not if he would recover. The angel of the Lord, said to Elijah, the Tishbite, arise go up to meet the messagers of the king of Samaria, and saay unto them, It is because there is no God in Israel that ye go to inquire of Baalzebub, the god of Ekron?.......Elijah goes to King Ahaziah, of Israel, with the third captian of the fifty....... As for as much, as thou hast sent messagers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron; is it not because there is no God of Israelto inquire of his word ? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die........ Reigned: Ahaziah, king of Israel reigned two (2) years and died as the prophet Elijah said..........Childless,left his kingdom to his brother,Jehoram. |

| (9) Jehoram Jehoram, the son of Ahab, also referred to as (Joram, king of Israel) . Jehoram, began his reign over Israel in Samaria ----during the eighteenth year (18) of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah. Jehoram, wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; but not like his fathers, and his mother, Jezebel ....... he put away the image of Baal, that his father had made. After the death of king Ahab, the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel. Jehoram numbered all Israel. He went to King Jehoshaphat, king of Judah ...... and asked if he would go up against Moab with him?..............The king of Israel, the king of Judah, and the king of Edom, took a seven (7) day journey there was no water for the host, nor for the cattle.......... The king of Israel, Jehoram cried Alas ! the Lord hath given these three kings togather into the hand of Moab. The king of Judah, Jehoshaphat, sought for a prophet so they could inquire of the Lord.One of the servants of the king of Isarel said that Elisha was here. They went to Elisha and he told them if it were not for the presence of Jehosaphat,the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee,nor see thee. Make valley full of ditches,ye shall see no rain, nor wind.....but the ditches shll be filled with water......but a light thing in the sight of the Lord.He will deliver the Mobabitea also into your hand. When the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them ....they prepared for battle,and stood in the border.In the morning when the sun shone on the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side it was as red as blood: They said this is blood: The kings are surely slain,and have smitten one another : ... so they went for the spoil in the camp of Israel. The Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, they fled,Israel behind themsmitting them in their country.... beat down cities,every good peice of land, stopped all wells of water, destroyed all the good trees,only one place they left the stones...... The King of Moab took his eldest son,that would have reigned after him, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall....for they had great indignation against Israel....Israel returned to their land... There was a famine in Israel, Samaria for seven (7) years... Elisha, goes to Damascus to see King Ben-hadad,of Samaria for seven (7) years .....Elisha goes to Damascus to see king Ben hadad of Syria,for he was sick Hazael,is told by Elisha,that he would be king of Syria. Elisha,cries because the Lord showed him all the evil Hazael would do to Israel....Hazael murdered, Ben hadad,the next day;and reigned in his stead...... In the fifth (5) year of Jehoram,the son of Ahab, the son of Jehoshaphat,Jehoram began to reign over Judah. Ahab and Jezebel had seventy (70) sons and two daughters Their daughter Athaliah,married Jehoshaphat 's son Jehoram; they had a son named Ahaziah. Jehoram of Israel is refered to as(Joram) or (Joram,son of Ahab). Jehoram of Judah is never refered to as( Joram) He is refered to as Jehoram of Judah or son of Jehoshaphat of Judah. |
