I began collecting ore samples in 1992 as an offshoot of my mineral collection hobby. My first sample came from the great Sunshine mine in the Coeur d'Alene mining district of northern Idaho, and my collection has grown since then. Some of the samples I obtained directly from the mining companies, some I collected, and some I bought.
Several of my samples are of material that will never be available again, as the mines have been worked out and/or reclaimed. I hope you all enjoy this site.
