You are welcome to Phoenix Nest, to share in the peace and surroundings. We wish you many tranquil hours to blend with the eons of time that have past over these mountains. Your stay will be a pleasant one, as any inconveniences will be handled within our power and the normal course of mountain life.
We ask that you treat Phoenix Nest as you would your own, taking care to leave it in such condition that others who follow you will have no cause to complain. We are all in this together, and ask your help while living in the cabin.
Your comments, concerns, and suggestions are welcomed, we'd like to hear from you. Any outings, day trips, restaurants, tourist attractions that you especially enjoy, please write about them in the journal so that others might trace your footsteps. The shopping in Dillsboro and Highlands is enjoyable, with restaurants that serve good meals to add to a pleasant day trip. Of course, Franklin itself has plenty to offer and as the months go by, the guest journal should keep us all busy retracing the routes of friends before us. Be sure to go to Wayah Bald, as it is the highest point in the area and will give you a panorama of the entire region. White mountain near Highlands is a wonderful hike with incredible views for the adventuresome. Waterfalls along the way should not be missed.
Any immediate problems or needs you have should be reported to Jeanine Johnson (349-3717) or Dean Franztman (369-2555). In closing, we are glad you have chosen to stay at Phoenix Nest, and hope you will return.
Many Blessings,
Tippy and Kieran
