Thirumaalai(70)

Conclusion

Sri Parthasarathi thunai,
Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha
Sri Vara Vara MunayE namaha

Dear bhAgavatas,

Accept adiyen’s humble pranams.  With the divine grace of Sri AndAl
samEtha Sri Parthasarathi emperuman, this kainkaryam, series of postings
on the thirumAlai paasurams of thondaradi podi alwar has come to an end.
Adiyen is grateful to asmad Acharyan HH Sri VanamAmalai kaliyan
Ramanuja jeeyer swamigal whose kataksham has given adiyen, the required
strength to continue with this kainkaryam.  Adiyen is highly grateful to Sri
Sri Krishna Premi anna whose lectures adiyen has followed throughout my
postings.  Adiyen is also thankful to Sri M.A. Venkata Krishnan
swamigal whose upanyasam has also helped adiyen in some places.

On top of all these adiyen is grateful to each of the bhagavata in this
group who had rendered support for adiyen to continue this kainkaryam,
by sending their appreciation and corrections wherever necessary.
Adiyen specially thank the moderators of the groups for their extended
support.

There are not many words to thank our alwars and acharyas who have left
for us such divine treasures.  Though this is a small prabandham it has
great importance.  It is absolutely essential for each and every
srivaishnava to know this prabandham by heart.  As already said, “ThirumAlai
ariyAr thirumAlai ariyar” (one who doesn’t know thirumAlai prabhandam
are those who cannot understand the supreme bhagavan).  This prabandham
talks about Vishnu paratvam, thirunAma sankeerthanam, prEma bhakthi,
divya mangala lAvanyam, kainkarya ruchi, bhAgavata kataksham, bhAgavata
prasAdam, bhagavat leelas in various avatarams and many more.  So though
the saying goes that “kOdhai tamil iyindhum iyindhum ariyAdha mAnidarai
vaiyam sumappadhE vambhu” (it is a waste for the earth to hold those
who do not know the 30 paasurams of Sri Andal) still thiruppAvai is
vedantha vishayam and little tough to understand but thirumAlai is in easy
tamil and could be easily understood even by kids so it is atmost
essential for each one of us to learn it.

Adiyen’s series of postings on thirumAlai was just an attempt to get
awareness among the bhagavatas of this group about this prabandham and
the great meanings studded in it as explained by the vyakhyAnams of
vyakhyAna chakravarthi, Sri periya vAchAn pillai.  It is not the complete
translation of the vyakhyAnam.  So Adiyen requests all bhAgavatas to
please go through the actual vyakhyanam to enjoy more indepth meanings or
listen the same from learned scholars and acharyas.
