Since the gym began operating in the last quarter of Year 2001, over 2,000 clients have climbed in our facilities.
This gym is dedicated to the memory of the late Edward "DingDong" Viado, who informally, but successfully coached several sport-climbers who went on to place highly in various legs of the National Sport Climbing Circuit, which is sponsored yearly by SCAPI (the Sport Climbing Association of the Philippines).
After DingDong's untimely, accidental death in December 2000, his fiancee, Tisa decided to invest 1.3MM in the construction of an indoor sport-climbing gym, something Ding had been aspiring to do since 1999. Recently, she turned over her investment to the Viado family. She is now in the US and working on a project to promote the regular use of helmets for outdoor rock climbing in the Philippine setting.
Others who knew Dingdong from the local climbing community had also expressed interest in investing: the Robles Family, Badge, Hugo, Riggz, Lee-Ray and Aldwin.
On the premises,there is a climbing gear shop run by Levi of Lagalag Outdoorwear and Badge of Kamikaze, for all your outdoor gear and apparel needs.
The gym is located within the Marikina Riverbanks Commercial Complex.
