TISM aims at Crawford, Paul Stewart, Sunday Herald Sun, 06 June 2004

MELBOURNE shock art rock band TISM has released a bizarre single about Hawthorn captain Shane Crawford.

TISM, which has a long history of mocking public figures, has unleashed a tune called I R....d a Girl Who R....d a Guy Who R....d a Girl Who R....d a Guy Who R....d a Girl Who R....d Shane Crawford. (Censored in original text, I swear - Ms .45

The song comes from the new TISM release The White Album, the title of which is a parody of the classic Beatles album of 1968.

TISM achieved big sales success a few years back with its send-up of a car crash advertisement, Greg! The Stop Sign.

Brad Lloyd, Crawford's personal manager, said the footballer was not offended by the song.

"Shane is still injured at the moment, but has heard the song is out," he said. "He told me personally he does not have a problem with it."

Lloyd said Crawford would consider interviewing the controversial band for the Sunday Herald Sun.

TISM member Humphrey B Flaubert said the song "was not an attack but a tribute".

"It is the story of how one pathetic man's life is made complete because he has six degrees of separation from Shane Crawford. We are all big fans of his."

The album is part of a package that includes film of the band in concert and old video clips.
