My Sinking Coat
15th December 2002, (continued), Tracie plans to just take pictures of the production of my coat rather than waste time on the tester. Mine will be cut and the preliminary decorative stitching will be done tommorow while Tracie is waiting on the collar and cuffs. Tracie is going to do everything in her power to complete the coat by Wednsday and shipped out that day. If Tracie recieves all the embroideries tomorrow then the coat should be done and ready to ship out possibly Tuesday. It all depends on how fast the embroidery is completed.Tracie tells me she is working very hard to to get this all done for Tracie and I and given to Tracie by tommorow.
16th December 2002, Tracie sent me a picture of the cuff test on her wool, which I have posted below. Her wool is two shades darker than mine, so that is why it appears as a darker pink. Again, these construction photos are the sole property of Tracie Arnold, and are not to be taken by anyone and posted anywhere.

Tracie also sent me another picture is the back collar being stitiched out on a tester swatch of felt. Tracie and Carla needed to do this to see if the design needs any tweeking, which it does in a few spots, but nothing major. She stitched it out in green embroidery thread but that was done only to conserve the black thread. It all looks just beautiful and the collar will be finished tomorrow as is is done in three pieces to get the right curve around the collar. Tracie and Carla are also going to have to add a few swirls to fill in the gaps between the back collar design and the front which will cause it to vary ever so slightly from the Peterman coat, but this is to make sure that the design makes it down to the collar front as it should. Tracie will have the cuffs tonight as Carla is going to call her when they are ready and the collar will be ready by tomorow morning, which will put Tracie in a good situation to send out the coat Tuesday afternoon.

17 December 2002, (1pm) Tracie has been over the test coat measurements and she has decided that it is going to be a great fit and will reflect two sizes larger than my regular size. Tracie has the same bust and sholder measurements as I, and she has tried on the test coat to see how it fit. Tracie hasn't heard from Carla yet today and last night she got the cuffs done so late that she told Tracie to pick up the cuffs when she picks up the collar later today. Tracie although sent me a few photos of the test coat (with only one sleeve) so I could see how the decorative seams and cuffs would look.

Tracie told me, "You will see that the decorative seams are only on the front panel and I haven't finished the front yet but that is due to time." She told me she has to get mine cut out now so she can get it put together and all the decorative seams on and matching up as well as the sleeves etc... She plans to finish the test coat after mine is complete. She only needed to make sure that the decorative seams were going to work out since the wool is much thicker than the Peterman fabric. 17th December 2002, (5pm), Tracie told me she just got my cuffs and the collar will be done hopefully this evening. Carla was stitching out the back portion of the test collar when Tracie got the cuffs, so if all goes well with the decorative stitch on Tracie's wool she will do mine right behind it. Tracie tells me the test collar looks amazing, but she forgot to take her digital with her to snap some pictures.
