This is the R.M.S. Titanic History section of my site, where you can find info on the actual ship, not the movie.  Here, you'll learn important dates, facts, people, etc.  When you disconnect from your internet server, I hope that you walk away with a little more understanding of this once great ship, and carry with you, the knowledge of her legacy. 
This is one of my favorite pics of Titanic.  It's shows her beauty, luxury, and elegance.
As shown on the animation: The Titanic's length is disputed between 882 feet to 885 feet.  The above thing shows how long she really was.  So, if you thought a regular passanger airplane was big, times that by four, and that's how long Titanic was!!!!
1907
Plans are made to build  two large luxury ships, the Olymic, and the Titanic, with a third, the Britannic, to be built later.
1908-1909
Construction on the Olypmic, and the Titanic begin in Belfast, Ireland.
1910
October 20th: the Olympic is successfully launched.
1911
May 31st: The hull of Titanic is successfully launched.
June: Olpmpic leaves on her maiden voyage.

1912
January:16 wooden lifeboats, along w/4 collapsible canvas-sided boats, are fitted onto Titanic.
March 31st: Outfitting on Titanic is finished.
April 10th: Wendsday~Sailing day! 
               
9:30-11:30 AM: Passangers arrive in Southampton, England to board the ship.
               
Noon: Titanic begins her maiden voyage.
               
6:30 PM: Titanic arrives in Cherboug, France, to pick up more passangers.
               
8:10 PM: Titanic leaves for Queenstown, Ireland, to pick up even more passangers.
April 11-12: Titanic sails smoothly en route to New York
April 14: Seven ice warnings are received durring the day.  barely ne of them reached the bridge.
             
11:40 PM: Fredrick Fleet spots the iceberg, and shouts, "Iceberg, right ahead!"  Titanic strkes the berg on the foward starboard side(front right side).  By 11:50, water reached 14 ft.
April 15: 12:00 AM: Cpt. Smith is told she only has a couple of hours to stay afloat.  He gives order for help over the wireless. 
             
12:05 AM: Orders given to uncover lifeboats.  There is only room for half of the 2,223 passangers aboard.
             
12:45 AM: First lifeboat leaves the ship.  Only 28 out of the 65 pple were on it.  Ship lists heavily through the next hour.
             
2:05 AM: Last lifeboat leaves. 
             
2:17 AM: Smith tells wireless operators to leave their post.  Foward funnel collapses, crushing unfortunate victims.        Next Page
