New Type of Bevel

1. Open a new image - 300x300 pixels/resolution-72dpi/backgroundcolor-black/16M-colors

2.

Set style pallet like shown

3.
Choose preset shapes/ as shown

4. Make a circle similar to shown/size is not important.

5. Convert to raster-[ right click on the layer tab and click convert to raster ]

6. Go to effects/blur/motion blur . Use these settings: direction/135 intensity/25

7. Right click on the layer containing the ring and click duplicate.

8. Make the new layer active. Go to image/mirror and mirror the new layer.

9. The image should look like this.

10. Right click on one of the layer tabs and choose-merge/flatten

11. Now you can go to colors/colorize and make it a color that appeals to your liking. I used Hue/30 Saturation/85

I think this bevel can be used to make cool interfaces, buttons or logo's.

And the plus is that its all done in a few easy steps and with no outside plug-ins.

Below is an example where I combined this tutorial and the illumination filter.
