In this picture, Jesus is praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. This happens right after the Last Supper when Jesus asked his disciples to sit with him while he prayed in the garden. During Jesus' prayer with God, he knows his fate and asks God, "if it is possible, let this cup ass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will" (MT 26:39). After he prays he goes back to his disciples, who are all asleep and gets mad at them for not staying awake. Jesus goes back to praying to God and keeps asking the same thing. When Jesus returns to his disciples, he wakes them up because he is about to be betrayed.
