Be Not Ashamed

When the time comes and the Lord
Knocks on your heart’s door,
And you know not what to do or say,
Be not ashamed. Just let Him in
So He may come in and sup
With you and you with Him ... before
There’s not a chance, ever again,
To let Jesus come in and be your friend.
He tries o’er and o’er to come
To us and let us upon Him rest.
But sometimes, most just keep on going
Down that old road of sin;
Not really willingly but, just
As an afterthought, think that’s the best.
But, once we really meet with Him,
We really know He’s always our friend.
I’m so happy to be able to talk with Him,
Lay my burdens on Him to rest.
He takes my troubles and cares,
Puts on and wears. For, He paid, at the cross,
For your sins and mine.
He put them behind and gives us rest
So, when He knocks on your heart’s door,
Wait no more. Accept Him and suffer no loss.
He willingly comes, time after time,
Seeking our deepest true love;
Waiting by the wayside,
Waiting for our sin to pass away ...
Knowing what we’ll do from the start,
Since before He came from above.
So, be not ashamed. For, it’s through His name
We’ll be with Him one great day.
