"Solving Solvable Sextics Using Polynomial Decomposition"

by Titus Piezas III

ABSTRACT: Using basic results established by Etienne Bezout (1730-1783) and Niels Henrik Abel (1802-1829), we devise a general method to solve the solvable sextic in radicals by deriving two kinds of resolvents, one kind of the 15th degree and the other of the 10th degree, that factors when the sextic is solvable and thus enabling us to decompose the solvable sextic either as: a) three quadratics whose coefficients are determined by a cubic or b) two cubics whose coefficients are determined by a quadratic.
