1999 Organizing Committee!

Welcome to the CHFG Family Web Page. Pearl and her husband Earl were Chairpersons of the 1999 Reunion held in San Antonio, Texas. Pearl is the daughter of Velva Lee--Cap--Haynes (see Haynes link) & Ressie Lee (Collins) Haynes.

Pearl and her committee worked for two years to pull together a fantastic family gathering reuniting mothers, fathers, cousins, aunts, neices, nephews, grand aunts and uncles, grandfathers and grandchildren and even great-grands. It was wonderful to see familiar faces. Some of us had not seen each other for as much as 40 years!

Other committee members were Lola Mae Goff, Dorothy Goff Oglesby, Willie Lee Keno, Ella Goff Allen, Jo Ann Bradford, Henry Bradford, (see Goff Link).

The 1999 Reunion was held in San Antonio, Texas. The Holiday Inn Express, located in downtown San Antonio, was chosen as the host hotel. We had an 'Introductions night' on Friday evening, and an 'all day picnic' on Saturday. The heat was pretty intense so everyone started to run for cooler surroundings fairly early in the afternoon. Even so, we managed to collect long overdue hugs, and kisses, family updates, and plenty of good ole down-home food!
