*Looking distressed* Well, first of all, may I say that I have been given logan’s permission to do this fic. And he knows what’s going on. So please don’t sue me or anything. Second, I do not own Digimon or any of the characters. Okay, as you might have guessed, this a remake of logan’s fic ‘Genesis’. I must admit that the story line will generally be the same as the original. However, I am going to make this opportunity of trying to re-create and re-imaginate some major things better and try to give this story a different feeling to all you readers. I will be writing the story in the way according to what logan wrote in the original, but I’ll try not to copy too much of it word by word or anything like that, cause that’ll be boring. I will be mixing of course genres of action, adventure, romance, drama, and in addition, maybe some angst, a little bit of horror perhaps, possibly suspense and one major genre I’m going to include definitely: fantasy (read on). I was intending to focus completely on Takari. But because I was just so devastated that Sorato became official, I just became anxious to focus on Taiora instead. Sorry about this. But I will also be putting some Mimato I hope, Takari definitely, and just maybe some Kenyako. I may also be including the characters from Digimon Season 3. The Outer Scouts, Trista (Sailor Pluto), Amara (Sailor Uranus), Michelle (Sailor Neptune) and Hotaru (Sailor Saturn) will also be appearing in this story (oh by the way, I prefer using their American dub names rather than their Japanese names, I just think they sound a little better). But I will be mainly sticking to the Digimon characters. So just take note of that. Important Note- In this version of ‘Genesis’, there is one very important ingredient I’m going to put in this story. I’m going to set the story in the kind of J.R.R. Tolkien fantasy world and atmosphere (now please don’t tell me you don’t know who Mr. Tolkien is…..oh alright, J.R.R. Tolkien is the famous author who wrote great novels such as The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy). You know, there was actually one certain video game by Capcom that actually inspired me to do this fic. Sadly I’ve forgotten what it was called, it was on the Super Nintendo and was in Japanese. It was pretty good, but I don’t think it did too well though as it got mixed reviews. I might also add in a small touch of Stanley Kubrick weirdness (but I’ll make certain I don’t push too far on that). ^_^ Expect this story to be in some cases the same to the original but in other cases different. Feel free to e-mail me at charlesxavier85@hotmail.com Back to More Fanfiction Genesis By Charles Xavier The Day A Digidestined Died Genesis, a word defined as the origin of a being or object. It is basically the beginning....... it was used in the holy Bible itself to describe the creation of two of the most important realms ever to exist: heaven and earth: immortal and mortal: infinite and finite. However, in the time of the great Digital Wars Genesis had another meaning: it was once a name given to one mighty being. To some he had been known as a savior, others saw him as a destroyer, others felt him as a lover, while many considered him an instrument of Judgement Day. He was a life that God had not intended him to be, and yet by mortal’s hand he was…… and in one man’s efforts to bring about a new era, a beginning, or a neo-genesis. And he alone was the solemn being to stand up and prove that some powers were meant to be beyond the grasp of mankind himself…… Or to be more precise, the sake of mankind…….. Tai Kamiya had changed a lot in the early years of their adventures as being heroes so called the Digidestined. Well, his change had truly and deeply been the result of one girl. Tai had loved Sora Takenouchi more than anything for longer than he had ever been able to put to days. Yet silent was he and silent he stayed. It was through this black gap that he lost his chance. For there was another young man who had developed emotional feelings for the young girl. And though he wasn’t as closely attached to her as to Tai was, he was able to do what Tai could not and dared not….. he possessed the power to tell her. The Digidestined had distinctly noticed that Matt and Sora’s relationship had deformed their leader with the same suddenness of a black gear as it dives into the tender flesh of one innocent soul yet victim. For once Tai had been a kind and caring young man, yet now he transformed into a figure of darkness and dread amongst them. He always ate alone in isolation and spoke only to give orders. He lead them in a way never before seemed like him. He was to them something more than human. A hiding beast born of pain, injustice and anger who had grown a thick armor of pure steel over his once tender heart. His eyes no longer emitted the light of friendship or tenderness. For behind those gazing eyes was a ferocity in a level never held within the aspect of a child’s face of his age. The heart is the powerful thing indeed…… it is the giver of life. One of the most important and sacred elements of the human body. The spirit and mind can be altered so effortlessly should the heart decree it. All the love he had claimed and sacrificed for Sora had shattered to emptiness and darkness like glass being struck violently, its cracking paths flowing through the solid, and eventually exploding into a million pieces, unfixable. And as this black transformation took place all that was innocent within Tai deteriorated slowly, leaving nothing but hatred and rage. But Tai had always been a good leader….. but now…. He was driven to save this world not for the sake of the world, but for the power to escape this agony that he now wallowed in, to blast off like a rocket into space. He was a god on the battlefield….. yet he was less than alive without the scent of death upon the atmosphere. "God damnit, Tai, we need a rest! My feet are killing me!" Matt squirmed from his place next to Sora. Tai did everything to ignore him as they journeyed on through the green forests in the Digital World. It had only just stopped raining and everyone was soaking wet from the heavy fall. The cold breeze in the air scraped their skin continuously making their bodies tremble and shake like a tidal wave of white freezing snow coming down on them. The forest was like a complete labyrinth. All the trees showed their same faces everywhere in all directions as confusion. And the cold breeze swimming through the atmosphere carried on with its joyful kicks and strokes of coldness. Tai had been kind enough to hand TK his goggles so the young fine boy would be to look through the windy path of flying twigs and leaves. Kari had tied her scarf over her head so she was shielded from the cruel chills and prevented her from getting a serious headache or cold. It was getting colder….. the sky began to darken like a thick blanket covering everything seen above and the drizzling of rain began to resume its duties of descending constantly down onto the land with no realization of where they would drop. This in combination to the cold, wet, windy air became seemingly a most unbearable climate…. nevertheless Tai continued on oblivious to the hostility of the environment. Matt’s anger began to burn furiously at his dismissal and he violently brushed away Sora’s hand in order to meet Tai at the head of the group. Sora did what she could to stop him yet was too late. Matt was like a raging bull guaranteed not to be taken from distraction of the color red. Sora looked ahead in paleness at the outcome of this action. Her spine chilled to sub-zero all the way down. Matt disliked Tai because despite the fact that he had Sora. He had never truly beaten Tai. It burned within his brain and body. The knowledge that HIS girlfriend still had a crush on somebody else. Tai despised Matt because he had what he had wanted his entire life. The two remained in silence and locked up in the endless waltz of hate and peace. Yet as it seemed the second Matt had taken Sora from Tai’s prospects the dance had turned into a dance shared by foes who possessed not of immortality as they circled one another in the ballet of war and combat. Peace was only a memory…. For Tai was at No Man’s Land…… he was at war with the world around him….. the element that gave him life…… he was at war with his own heart……. "Tai! C’mon! We really need to timeout! Give it a break!" Matt exclaimed as he grasped Tai’s shoulder in an attempt to intimidate the young leader with his tight grip. The others gaped at this act of what looked like suicide. Tai had slain evil Digimon in battle…. He felt deep sympathies killing them and regretted it…… but Tai hated Matt…… there was no doubt about it to the end result of this action…. the only question that rang through the minds of the audience was if they would be able to stop this monstrosity before it was too late…… He spoke in a low and growling voice. "We’re too open to attack here….. take your slimy hand off me now." He hissed in the sort of ‘watch it’ attitude. "What if I don’t?" Matt snorted back. "This…." Tai lunged backward and with a demonstration of great velocity and demonic might threw Matt and himself into a nearby shallow lake where mud reigned supreme of this terrain. The two creatures now covered in black mud rose from the surface of the water like zombies rising from their shallow grave and continued their raging war as black sprinkles of impure water flew left and right. The blond’s neck was in the hands of his rival being strangled like a rag doll being beaten by its abuser. He spat saliva mixed with blood from his parched lips into Tai’s eye as he began to scowl at him. Tai let go of Matt in painfulness of the stinging in his eye. Matt’s eyes glowed straight wards at Tai with infra red with the same vision as a menacing cobra shows to the inferiors as it plunges downwards to its prey with a deadly impact. Mimi was the most terrified in this event besides Sora. Splashes of water crashed down onto her as Sora dived into the muddy lake to the rescue. It wasn’t too long before she herself was also covered in the thick mud. She ran to Matt and grabbed his shoulders, pleading for the cease of this meaningless battle. Matt had turned cold. He shoved her aside vigorously in a grunt of anger. Sora became off balanced and as Matt pushed her off, she stumbled back into the murky dark water and fell with a big splash. The rough seabed increased the pain of her injury as she fell hard as a teddy bear would down the cradle of a baby. She yelped lightly as she fell on her leg, which twisted a little. "MIMI!!!!" Palmon cried as Mimi was the next volunteer to dive into the pool of black. Like Sora, she begged mercy for the end of this mindless war. She grasped Matt’s fist from his back and held it tightly. "MATT! DON’T DO IT! YOU’LL KILL EACH OTHER!" she cried in tears, insisting more that he should stop this sudden rise of violence which would possibly touch the level of death itself. Matt just pushed Mimi with his back as Sora was getting up from the surface of the water, her face met with Mimi’s helpless body and the two girls made a bigger splash than before. If there ever was one way to evoke the greatest rage from Tai Kamiya it was by doing what he had done. With a loud cry like a wolf he leaped upon Matt as some arachnid wrapping its razor claw legs on its victim. Matt yelped as Tai tried to drown him in the cold freezing liquid. He screamed of rage as for the first time he had been given to express and unleash all the pain he had known and felt in his heart from losing Sora without a single fight. This blond son of a bitch didn’t deserve her….. he didn’t see her as Tai did….. Matt had never fought Tai like this. Matt kicked Tai in the stomach with his kneecap and blasted out of the water like a shooting star and clutched for heaps of air as she opened his mouth wide open. Tai was completely out of control and sanity…… he was trying to his ‘friend’ apart…… Matt hadtried to struggle with the onslaught, yet found that Tai had grown stronger in his hidden wrath and from the bubbling pool of anger he was delivering violent acts….. suddenly he realized that his throat was gripped once again. This time the grip was much tighter than before. And Matt eyes widened as he saw a fearful image of Tai looking down at him with eyes that did not look like his. His eyes were now covered in red thick veins, both staring angrily at Matt. They were eyes that were born to kill. Tai had now become a demon with a heart plagued with nothing but hate. Tai gave a slight smile as he drew his hand back in the same sort of way a flaming rock is pulled back by a catapult, ready to be released to unleash hell upon the mortal world. The blond samurai was slashed and being hacked away by the brown hair samurai. He swung his sword back and forth, up and down, unveiling more painful cries and wounds. A pool of blood produced on the wooden floor of the temple, leaking through the lining gaps and reaching down floor to floor as it ended making its way into the soil. The blond’s shirt was ripped off, revealing his bare chest and back. It was all covered with thin red lines, crossing in every direction leaking with red blood like rain leaking through wood. He knelt down in extreme agony even when his knees struck the ground violently. The now useless samurai was soon to receive his death penalty as the brown samurai raised his sword in the cold night air. Silence…… "Stop……. please…….. Tai….. this isn’t you at all." Said a meek voice in a tone Matt could roughly recognize. Matt opened one eye to find Sora with arms wrapper around Tai trying to hold him back and stop the insanity. "Tai….. don’t do it….. it won’t solve anything." She whispered softly into Tai’s ear as her eyes met into Tai’s cold lifeless eyes. Those very eyes contained tears of sadness and love. Something that could not be ignored, not even to Tai. She was a fairy….. a beauty….. opposite to him…… he looked back to where Matt looked at his black face terrified and pale. He was powerless, not because he was out of strength, but because the demon within Tai which Matt could see. Tai shut his eyes and opened his hand release the wondering beast as it gagged and coughed. He sighed at Sora and then walked away….. Tai dragged himself out of the rainy lake and made his own way to a place where he could be alone, he neither showed any signs of coldness nor did he say a word. He was silent. A burning demon within. All locked up again, already finished its job for today. Matt watched him helplessly as he tried to recover from his stunned dizzy trance. He too made his own way to be alone. And he too did he leave the girl he loved more than anything in the world, not knowing of the other innocent girl sitting in the lake who secretly had a crush on him. She was too afraid to reveal herself to Matt. But that crush will grow and grow, and it will not be big enough to stay in that same cell. It will someday have to be released to the world….. someday……. She thought to herself….. A god in battle……. alone in peace…… Night was always an unpleasant time. Dark, hateful and shrouded with the damned. The Digidestined had taken escape from the swirling winds and heavy rain of the endless forest within a dark warm cave where they were able to make a fire and keep warm. Weather was a very unpredictable being, always changing its personalities every so often. Within the sky the glowing ember faded behind the horizon of the mountain and thus grew cold. A coldness that brought fear to Tai: the coming of snow. The fire they had worked on for so long began to dim and eventually died out as its lifeless body was parted into the moving ocean of the wind. The Digidestined huddled together for warmth. That was their only source of heat. Warmth of love for each other perhaps. Together they were except one….. Tai observed back to them with a cold hearted expression. He slept away from the others. He didn’t feel right with them no longer, not even his own sister Kari. She huddled together with Matt’s brother TK. Tai looked away. He couldn’t take another second seeing them…. but especially who Sora would most likely be cuddling next to…… it hurt tremendously to see them together everyday, hand by hand and heart and heart. In Tai’s darker moments he had considered something….. they had fought so many lethal enemies everyday…… it would be plain simple for him to just step into an attack. But he would be killed effortlessly and as he died he would be free of the pain and throbbing within his heart. He had almost done it once yet so close. The rocks began to fall from the collapsing mountain. Tai stood under it as the others fled from the destruction. Matt held Sora’s hand as he led the way for her and made their way to escape. Sora looked back in shock to see Tai standing still, smiling at her. And even when the giant boulders hit Tai in the head with blood exploding from his head, his smile did not go away. A volcano was erupting its hot viscous lava out of a volcano, ready to bring hell upon the area around it. The lift door inside the hotel opened slowly sideways. Blood flowed out from inside and flooded the marble surface of the floor as if it was a city of prosperity and ritual. And out came the bare body of Tai Kamiya covered in blood. A skyscraper building collapsed in the view from the sky and gravel and rock plunged down onto the land with loud crashes. And in the field the bright light of the fire emitted its brightest as the nuclear bomb was dropped within the land. Destroying everyone and everything. Tao only was alive today for Sora. He didn’t want to live because of her, but he could not die because of her. "Tai?" his dreams were broken from his thoughts by her soft angelic voice. Sora stood before him. She was smiling softly at him with a sad feeling on her face. He motioned her to sit next to him on a giant rock which served as his pillow. "Tai…. why are you by yourself all the time? It’s freezing. I’m worried about you." She tried to say in a sort of strict tone. But as she looked up into the sad dark eyes if her on true love it would look cruel to be mad at him at this time. She reached over to him and threw her arms around him in an effort to warm his frigid skin. "Sora, it’s all right. I like the cold." "Tai, you’re like an icle." Sora held him to her as her hands touched her cold skin. Now she was very worried….. her body was starting to warm his touch to her. In return he began the same action on her own bare arms. The feeling and sensation was good. Even from the beginning there was always an attraction between the two…. but even the act of pure innocence and kindness, such as warming her friend, would turn things on more brighter. They stroked each other’s faces with a growing warmth between them. But just as their as their warm lips of passion were about to meet in their very first kiss…. Sora ceased….. "Oh, Tai…. you know we can’t do this…. What will Matt say?" she said in a somber voice as she backed away a little. Sora saw the sad desperate eyes on Tai. He stood up onto his feet and began to leave, outside into the cold wild world from the cave. To look back? He did not. His only words were, "Good night Sora….. sweet dreams….. see you in the morning….." "Good night…. Tai…. where are you going?" she whispered. But Tai was already gone. She went to regroup with the dormant others. She knew that Tai would return. She slept with a smile on her face. The winds grew colder that night, the rain shone down more fiercely. Tai stood beside the bank of the aggressive flowing river. Staring into its emptiness that had nothing to offer him but his reflection. Tai knelt down to the river to put his hands into the water. For moments he layed his hands still in the cold wet liquid. During that time he looked at himself. Indeed he had changed. He had changed a lot. With a sigh he scooped up a handful a of water and cleansed his face with it. Shutting his eyes temporarily thinking of what he has done, what will happen and most importantly, Sora. But as he opened his eyes Tai caught a terrifying glimpse in the reflection of the water. For a second there stood a dark shadowy dragon shaped head looking down upon him from above. It looked at him silently with nothing to say, only his eyes gazed into his deeply in the dark water. And for that split second its eyes suddenly emitted a red glow….. a demonic glow……something that gave Tai a fright and terror that seemed like as if somebody had inflicted a thousand blows in his stomach. Tai gasped and quickly turned his head. Nothing. Just his mere illusion and imagination. A trick his mind was playing about with him. A fantasy trying to become a reality. No use. He sighed and continued to wash his face. In the cold damp weather…….. "Yes….. Tai Kamiya……. You are strong indeed……." An spiritual voice said quietly to itself. Alone was Tai Kamiya. Forever more. A new source of warmth was brought up by the rising sun. The water droplets on the leaves of the trees shone brightly in the sun's reflection and the gold rays of the sun shone throughout the forest. The air had raised its temperature from its cold measurement from last night and all was calm. However, the full energy of the warmth was not yet upon them for it was only the early morning. "Good morning, Digidestined." Gennai said with a cheerful face, despite the fact that he always had some grave news upon the Digidestined. His smile dimmed when he looked at Matt in the distance who had mud marks a over his face and eyes and a series of black bruises around his arms from his recent 'accident' with Tai. He crossed his arms and looked sternly while leaning against a tree. "Matt Ishida? Are you okay over there?" Gennai asked. Matt’s brows lowered as his eyes went half shut, giving Gennai the kind of ‘don’t ask’ expression. Tai gave a mere grin as he looked around and hummed softly to himself. Mimi just couldn’t help gluing her eyes on Matt the silent beast. There was much going inside of him. She could feel it. It was like some sort of sixth sense she possessed yet had no idea how to control it. "Okay…… Well, I hate to be the pallbearer of bad news but we have another crisis in our hands." "What is it this time?" Joe complained. "I’m afraid that an old friend of ours has returned and has created a machine capable of a level twelve plasma pulse." Gennai turned began to shake as he uttered the technological word. The tone he inflicted expressed its serious severity. Tai looked at Izzy for a translation only to find Izzy pale at the comment. "Well, what’s a level twelve plasma pulse?" asked Matt. "It’s very identical in power to an electromagnetic pulse the size of a super nova….. but this is definitely unlike an EMP in that plasma effects organic matter instead of technological matter. If this device has the ability to generate a pulse like that here in the Digital World it would wipe out all organic matter within the planet. In other words, all Digimon who aren’t strictly machine and all plant and animal life, would be, erased......" his hands began to shake. "No…..that’s……..genocide……" Sora hesitated. "He names it the organic purge of the Digital World. Should this happen the entire Digital World would eventually die. This world has an easily alterable balance between organic and inorganic life and intelligence. Should the purge commence that balance would be broken to the point where it could never be regained. Also, you Digidestined would undoubtedly perish as well. This Digimon must be stopped at all costs." Tai raised his brow, "Who is this Digimon, Gennai?" Gennai turned to him to reveal a white pale face. "Well, after he was killed in the battle with you Digidestined, it appears he had been resurrected by some unknown source and has later replicated and remade himself….. how, why, who and when, you ask? I have no clues whatsoever. That’s something for you to find out yourselves. He is…… Datamon." Sora let out a gasp and her legs began to tremble. Tai’s eyes began to glow with hatred as the visions of that day where he had almost lost the life of Sora to Datamon came flooding back into a violent dream. The name of that technological demon had a strange power to torment Tai. By uttering such a name he could pop up within Tai’s mind with the same horrible images of Sora falling into that pit of twisted wires and cables. Tai to this day had never been afraid as he had been when Sora was almost killed. He despised him in a way he had never known evil. Even Matt was above the level of this monster. Tai found his voice quivering in rage as he choked out: "Where……is……he?" They stood atop a plateau of dead earth overlooking the valley of a water world. No plant life beneath the water existed within this darkened crater of dead life. No life in the water could be seen either. No water Digimon could be spotted anywhere. It was as though this were a giant lake of death and evil. It was pitch black beneath the blue mask of the water. The rocks sticking out were like sharp claws ready to penetrate through anybody to whoever fell to their handful fate. This affected the minds of the Digidestined quite severely. Mimi cowered to Matt who just looked at her in surprise while Kari clung to TK like a brother is clung to his frightened little sister. The bed of the lake was full of death, death as in as if the Grim Reaper himself was waving at them down below with his most deadly looking scythe, looking forward to meeting them once they descend down with him. Matt was surprised to find Mimi giving the kind of look as if she had just seen a ghost. And indeed that was the case. Within Mimi’s mind there spawned images of grotesque looking old people, with blood covering their heads, body completely mutated and eye sockets unplugged and saying: "Come play with us Mimi." Mimi shrieked and held onto Matt’s shoulders hiding behind him and wishing to herself that they’d go away and stop haunting her. "Matt! Help! MAKE THEM GO AWAY!!!!!!!!" cried Mimi. "Mimi? What’s wrong? I don’t see anything." Said Matt. Mimi stopped screaming and looked back down onto the lake. There was nothing there. Mimi was silent. "Are you okay, Mimi?" asked Sora. "Um…..yeah……sorry guys…….I’m just seeing things." Said Mimi. Matt sighed. "You had me pretty worried there, Mimi. You nearly scared me." Said Matt with a slight smile. Mimi gave a little chuckle and smiled at Matt back. The sky gave the impression to the children that this would probably have been the place where rainclouds were originating from. The sky was dark and foggy. And it felt like evil reigned this area of the valley. And behind those tarish black clouds in this Digimon hell stood the spire……. The spire was constructed of cold metallic plating and twisting wires and cables which stretched from the top of the spire and all the way down to the bottom of the lake. The spire itself reached high above the air, literally cutting through the large blanket of thick smog. It was quite obvious to see the mechanical roots that stretched throughout the whole bottom of the lake like some unpleasant looking tree. The roots twisted and pulsed as though the spire itself was alive. These veins of pulsating metal stretched up the entire structure and moved as giant tendrils of terrifying perportune. The metallic plates pulsed outwards in terrible lunging breaths. This made the Digidestined turn a little nauseaous by just watching it and listening to the sounds it was making. It sounded like it was living on the flesh of the Digital World. Then they discovered that this thing they stood upon at was in fact alive itself. And they knew somewhere within was Datamon. "Jesus Christ." whispered Joe with his mouth wide open. "You can say that again." TK whispered back. "Look there, near the top." Tai said sharply as he stared through his small mini-telescope. Several red glowing spheres were seen as great satanic eyes that looked out over the landscape on one of the upper levels of this tower of hate. The same metallic veins ran through them. And they also pulsated outward and contorted in the illusion of life. "Izzy. You said they required several lenses to focus the pulse’s directory back to the Digital World’s core. Would those things work?" Tai asked in a grave tone. "Yes. I believe so. Those must be the lenses. Theoretically if we could destroy them the pulse wouldn’t work." "Maybe I should get Birdramon digivolve and take them out Tai." said Sora quietly. "No. Something’s very suspicious around here. Datamon would very unlikely make it this simple for us." Tai reached below and picked up a single stone from the ground and studied it for a moment. "Everyone, take cover." Tai reared back and with a swift jerk of his arm tossed the stone high into the blue sky. All eyes were focused the projectile. Yet as it was no more than five feet into the stillness of the air the ground exploded beneath it with a mist of dry grey earth and sand. One of the roots that had laid submerged within the lake suddenly sprung to life from the depths of hell like the tail of a scorpion. It jetted upward as a whip and as it collided with the stone it engulfed it within its coils. Within a moments time the cable crushed the rock to a soft white powder. As the tendril waited in suspense all eyes were open and fixed upon the smooth surface of it. Then as a serpent of the ocean it disappeared back into the black hell of the sea bed. All was pale as they stared upon the unassuming mound of sand which concealed the most deadly of weaponry. "Tai. Datamon must have some kind of motion sensor net and those tendrils all around the valley underneath the sand must have a high rate of sensitivity." Izzy whispered in Tai’s ear. "Can it be disabled?" asked Sora. "It would take days." Said Izzy shaking his head, "And attacking it will only signal that we’re here." "Izzy, we need a way to short them out." Izzy merely looked back at the tower with a look of debate. His mind was reeling as he considered other methods with which he could bring down the strong defenses. His gaze opened as it came across the lenses at the summit of the tower. "I’ve got it." He said to himself as he frantically took out his laptop and began to rapidly punch the keys. He spoke as he continued to calculate the mathematics. "We can use an EMP pulsewave to short out the defenses. It would also neutralize any way for Datamon to detect our position. To my understanding it’s very likely to succeed." Tai looked upon the ocean of death back to the blank facial expressions of his friends as they attempted to comprehend what the computer nut was trying to say. Sora was the one to break the silence. "Izzy. We have one slight problem. To create an EMP large enough for this we need a really powerful electronic device to detonate." Sora said quietly. "Excuse me here. Was I the only one asleep the day they taught us in science?!" Joe said angrily. "I don’t think we have anything that could work." Tai looked gravely down to his belt, then back, then back to the mountain. He spoke softly with dark and soft words. "I think I have an answer." Tai reached for his belt and withdrew his own Digivice. Their eyes widened as they understood what Tai had in his mind. He looked down at his Digivice and gave a deep mournful sigh. The Digivice shimmered in metallic luster within the midday sun. Tai tenderly skimmed the screen which illuminated with an innocent light. He looked from his glowing device to the disgusting and vulgar beast beside him. There was a silent sorrow as the two friends held a silent talk. They were friends. And to do what was essential now would sever the bond. "Sora." Sora looked into Tai’s eyes, "Hand me your Digivice." He requested in a sorrowful pain within. She paused for a few seconds before finally handing him her own device. It glowed as Tai observed it. Tai’s expression turned to solid stone as he called upon the great icy power he had developed to keep his feelings and emotions buried within the last few months. He regretfully raised both devices into the air and then turned them so they were facing each other head to head and screen to screen. His eyes slipped shut as the two devices began to glow brightly. "Digimon protocol sequence commence. Agumon transfer code begin." He spoke in a voice that wasn’t his own. The words echoed like shock waves from all directions. They stared in awe at how he had come to know this. Something within Tai’s mind told him how to command the Digivice this way. The winds began to pick up and sirl around them as a dervish. He paused as he mouthed out one final farewell to Agumon and then drawing in a deep breath spoke the final oreder. "System erase. Begin after transfer. Authroization code: destiny." A great flash of aqueous blue light rose as he spoke the words, which swirled around him as glowing tendril of steam. They danced around him fiercely as their movements became more erratic and they doubled in number, size and strength. The two devices began to burn in the hands of Tai. From the screens now burned violet fire which flared around Tai’s grasp on the two devices. The others stood in a stunned state as they watched Tai gritting his white teeth in agony as a beam of pure violet light with indigo electrical sparks surrounding it exploded from Tai’s device into Sora’s. Tai had that urge to scream in pain and horror. By some strange entity of power he had the pure knowledge of how to do this. Yet he hadn’t mastered the pain that it would inflict upon the candidate. In one single instant he had realized the link the Digidestined had possessed to the Digimon. And indeed it was strong and certainly unbreakable in every way. The Digivice was part of himself. And as he copied the files and information to Sora’s Digivice he felt as though he was erasing part of his inner soul. The sky around them shrieked with fright and thunder as Tai renounced his position as a Digidestined by erasing his Digivice. The two devices began to tremble and vibrate as though they wished not be involved in this sacrifice. Bolts of golden lightning erupted from his grip as he snarled trying to with stand the agony. The other began to cower as they got a glimpse into the true power of the Digivice, and the soul that existed within them. Tai’s feet were lifted from the ground several feet high above like an angel being sent to the heavens as he continued to cling onto his two Digivices. The eyes of Tai shot open to reveal that they too emitted the same bright violet light. The sky rained sparks of indigo as the wind wailed loudly. Tai’s hair shot up wildly as if there were a strong turbulence of wind blowing upwards beneath him. And he felt his hands submersed in the violet flame. Then it all vanished. Tai dropped onto his two feet and looked down to his hands in shock to see that fire had burned through his gloves. Nothing remained of them anymore. And now upon his open palms there came a deep burned-in impression of the two Digivice screens. They were etched perfectly to match the machines. The flesh was scared terribly. He felt slightly ill as he struggled not to breathe the foul stench of burning flesh. The devices were now cool to the touch, and as Tai closed his throbbing fist small tendrils of grey fumes gently drifted away from the part between each burned digit. The infernal heat had both cut and cauterized the wounds leaving Tai with two most painful and possibly permanent scars. And not even for a second did he cry out. And as the others looked in horror at what they had just watched he began to slowly walk to Sora. Matt wanted to block his way. But he realized Sora had feelings for his rival. And furthermore, Mimi for some reason pulled him back and shook her head when setting eyes on her. It seemed that if Matt were to interrupt he would ruin everything. Hence he watched Tai’s hands burned with flames and the boy had not screamed out. Tai had never in his life seemed more godlike than he was now. And for the first time Matt paled before this boy of whom he had once called a friend. Tai looked down to where Izzy stood in utter tranquility. He reached down and handed him his Digivice which seemed cold and dead and out of life as its screen remained a pitch black. Izzy received it without question. "Program it." He ordered in a soft voice. Izzy immediately began to tackle the immensely powerful device into an explosive capable o detonating and creatiNg a pulse of such ferocity as to kill this living tower. Tai shuffled over to Sora slowly. He painfully handed her back the Digivice that now contained the data to both Biyomon and Agumon. "I’m sorry Sora. Agumon is your Digimon now. Forgive me." He replied mournfully as the now timid reptile crept to her side along with Biyomon. Tai made one final glance to his allies. The Digimon looked back to Tai with a deep sorrow cut upon his features. Whoever would think the scaly face could portray such pain and sorrow. Tai knelt before him as the young dragon crept closer to his partner of old. They embraced in a tight and long hug. Tai whispered something inaudible to anyone apart from his faithful dragon. "Take care of her, Agumon, my dear and old friend." The protective shield of the Digivice had been upgraded to reveal a vast and complicated assortment of copper wiring, and a seeming maze of circuit board that stretched through everywhere. It had altered into a starnge irregular shape. Several red cables stretched through the gaping opening to Izzy’s cellular phone which had been adjusted to act as a trigger for the pulse. The screen pulsated with light like a beating heart. Tai looked over his dead Digivice with a sickening look. It seemed liked it had been crushed by a heavy boulder. "Izzy. Are you sure that it will be able to produce a large enough pulse?" Sora asked while softly patted Agumon on the head. It was hard to believe to see a Digimon respond so well so quickly to her. Her eyes magnetised to Tai who was sitting above on the edge of the cliff. He looked very depressed like never before. Yet from the depths of his sorrow a strength emitted. She had so many questions and so little answers. Why had he chosen himself so readily to make such a sacrifice so dear? And why hadn’t he chose anyone else except her? Why was he hiding his anger, even when they were facing the most important battle of their lives to date? "The Digivice is more powerful than a nuclear war head. If he wired it correctly it will have enough strength to short the entire complex." Tai responded back after he remained dormant for some time. "Tai, it’s ready." Izzy said softly as he handed Tai the EMP-grenade. Tai smiled softly as he tested the weapon’s weight in his hand. He looked back to the Digidestined darkly. They were scared. TK and Kari were holding each other as they looked to the towering spire. Mimi couldn’t help but stick close to Matt. Her feet trembling forcefully. Even the eyes of the older teens there was fear in the atmosphere. This was either an all or a nothing scenario. Should they lose confidence…… they couldn’t lose confidence. It is something that circulates within each person’s blood. Nothing can make it go away. "Okay, guys, listen up. This is it. It is either do or die. We were called to this world as heroes….saviors…. Now we find ourselves put to the big one. This is our biggest day. Our momentous event of all time. Our lives are watching us right now. We get the chance to save the world. We get to stop a demon from committing the most evil and unbearable act of acts…....genocide…….I know this seems like a lot……this would be more than even our adults could take…..sometimes I even forget that we are all still children….. Children weren’t meant to face life and death in these situations. They weren’t meant to play games with Death over their lives before they had a real chance to live them….. And for that reason may I ask you all not to join me on this if you’re not really sure it’s worth it. This a choice that each of us must make on our own. Let your conscience and soul tell you what to choose. It’s time to ask if you are absolutely ready…… While you ask yourself looking for an answer, listen to what I have to say…… Do not focus on Friendship…….. Do not focus on Courage………" Tai paused as his soft eyes looked to Sora shedding a sparkling tear which lost its most strggling grip on the edge of his eye lash and fell to its horrible splashy death onto the brown earth itself, breaking into a million pieces and multiple directions. Sora looked back at him with an emotion he had never seen in her before……. "Focus on Love……. If you have something you love enough to die and to protect then I ask you to fly by my side. I ask you to make your choice wisely if you are truly ready…… Ready to fight ‘til death…… Ready to die in honor……. Ready to be…..heroes…….for generations to come…… Tai turned back upon the chasm as he awaited their answers. He found his response in the form of a soft hand on his shoulder. He turned to face them. They each stood before him with a look of determination and eagerness on their faces. He smiled softly as he looked at Sora. She stood before them all like a warrior princess leading her army into battle. She had a look of pride in her tender crimson eyes. She was the one to break the quietness. "Did you honestly think we’d leave you now to die on your own, Tai?" Tai smiled as he lifted his grenade into the air. "’Tis the day of destiny……." He uttered softy. The object flew into the sky like an golden eagle in swooping in the sky and for an instant it hung in the air above the lake of death. It slightly shimmered lightly in the air as it plunged down into the thick cloudy water. All eyes were below as the grenade effortlessly glided through the small tides. The ground suddenly shook and large waves erupted from the surface as several long whip tentacles ripped from the lake and flew toward the last hope of the Digital World. They moved extremely quick. Just as they were no closer than several inches time stopped itself…… The light was blinding, even from above the water. A hemisphere of pure white radiance vut through the heavens and bathed the lake in a powerful wave of might. The light swam with electricity as it hurtled across the landscape while violent tidal waves moved in all directions non-stop. The swirling light gathered in a crowd around the spire. The dense dark clouds parted slightly and made way to the light as it cuts its way to the pure heart of heaven. It rained shimmering hail and snowflakes of white sources of energy down across the valley in a most amazing and most breathtaking act of Devine power. The tower screamed in fright. It was a high pitched scream of gears perishing and metal scraping into metal like a music of sparks. The tendrils twisted in pain as they slumped to the ground as a poisonous plant would after having failed to receive energy for itself for survival. From the wall of light that pierced the heavens they came. The Digidestined rode as royal knights into battle. The light shone and brightened with the white eternal fire. They appeared as shadows from the blaze of Devine fire. Joe stood atop the armored shell of Zudomon as he sprinted through the flames. His godlike hammer thundered forward as he rushed upon the crowd of mechanical Digimon that emerged from the slack of gaping jaws of the dying spire and through the black ocean. The instrument of attack thundered as Vulcan’s hammer knocked through all the walls of metallic opponents. He pushed through them his hammer clinging loudly as he fought his way through the waves. Joe stood atop him with a look of true boldness and muscle. Suddenly the sky burst forward as a cloud of light gave way to the flying Digimon. Izzy sat atop the armored shell of MegaKabuterimon as his thrusters screeched. The giant beetle Digimon descended down among the pack of malfunctioning Digimon as a giant black shadow. Matt stood atop the back of MetalGarurumon while the thrusters of the mechanical wolf roared. His two razor wings hung at his side sticking out, cutting the thin air as he flew. Beside Matt, Mimi and Lillymon flew forward into the great war. She was soon followed by TK and Kari who clung to the backs of their Digimon, who were flying through the battle with weapons a many. "I hope you know what you’re doing Tai…..let’s go MetalGarurumon!" the mighty canine drove to fray with monstrous pride for warfare. Only two figures remained soaring high in the sky above the battle. WarGreymon glided at beside Sora keeping peace with the massive flaming new mega Digimon…..Phoenixmon. The merging of Tai’s Digivice to Sora’s unlocked the access for a warp digivolve. The massive eagle glowed with roaring flames as its long magnificent wings stretched out seemingly forever. Atop the mighty phoenix’s back two shadowy figures stood side by side. Tai watched down at the battle. "We will win. The pulse is still shorting them out. They can’t hold on much longer." He said in a deep low voice as he continued to study the carnage below. "Tai. What are you going to do?" Sora said as she brushed the hair from her curious eyes. Tai smiled softly to her as she looked back to the endless madness of battle. The screaming of lives and the destruction of evil. He could catch glimpses of the Digidestined through the waves of conflict and warfare. "Destiny…." Tai leapt from the mighty Digimon’s back. He dived down to earth as a meteor does upon entry into the earth’s layer. With his arm at his side he controlled the fall in a fashion that he was able to stay in consciousness and concentration of the descent. His hair whipped violently at his face as he smiled in happiness at the dream of flight. It was a sense of liberation and stillness as he flew. Tai felt a part of himself at peace in the fight against war. For in the pain and poetry of the battle he was most at home. His senses delighted upon the smooth texture of the cold blowing winds of this altitude. It was as if the world opened up to him. He could sense the smoke of burning gears from his nose. He could sesne the clanging of burnt steel colliding with steel in a mighty orchestra of chaos with a gurgling electricity sound in the water. To explain war to one who has not witnessed it is a most difficult task. War is hell. Hell is war. For there comes death, pain, sorrow, anguish, injustice, horror and sadness. All feelings guide their own way onto the empty grounds that would be sanctified by blood. Yet aside from war being considered a terrible and traumatizing activity…..to the warrior it is nothing a poetic dance. Life is never seen more clearly as it is put to agrument with death in a great level. The surge of adrenalin as it inhales electric fiery life into every cell of the body. To taste the sweat of warfare upon your brow. To take in the stench of coppery aroma of blood in the air. To perish in one mighty ablaze of explosive glory. Or to stand atop a pile of tortured earth and survey the field as a victor. Tai knew his power. This drug was as deeply addictive to him as any purchasable upon a shadowed street corner. Tai was drugged to the fight. He was a warrior. And as any warrior would justify. You would feel as alive as when you are about to die in order to die for. The military planes of the Allies dropped their bombs upon the Nazi army bases, while parachuters jumped out one by one ready to risk their very lives into the heart of warfare. The commander of the Viking army drew down his sword in order to signify the unleashing of the hot fiery boulders layed onto catapults. The Romans charged towards the barbaric hoard of the British in the cold and grassy field by the coast of the cold blowing sea. The seagulls as their only audience. The Tyrannosaurus Rex, making aggressive combat on the Triceratops, which constantly tried ramming its mighty horns into its enemy. The carnivorous reptile growled at his food, which didn’t seem to have any respect for the eater. The chunk of food rammed forwards again roaring in rage yet the T-Rex stepped sideways avoiding its attack and quickly making his counter by taking a deep and fierce bite in the neck. The Triceratops running out of oxygen fast soon collapsed to the ground, slowly getting closer and closer to the touch of the Grim Reaper himself while the ruthless creature atop of him just smiled an evil smile. Tai glanced over only to come face to face with Phoenixmon at his side at an equally steep dive. Atop the flaming bird he saw Sora with an expression that mirrored his own. Just as planned he was able to grab for one of the long twisting tendrils that now lay dead at the spire’s side. He grinned as he swung gracefully from the turret closer to the ground as if he was like king of the jungle. The cable gave him enough halt on his free-fall to enable himself to land to his own power. With a graceful action Tai landed on a bent knee at the foot of the spire. He stood with a grin again as he looked upwards to see the large flaming bird descending upon him. Just seconds before collision the massive bird flicked its wings in a motion that carried off the trajectory. The Digidestined charged for the tower and with the combined power of the three mega Digimon they were able to find the engine room by crashing through wall after wall of writhing steel. They came to rest in the mighty engine room which stretched up from the base to the top of the dark spire. As they came to a tiring stop they gasped in shock at the insides of the spire itself. It was more organic looking from the inside than it was from the outside. Within the skeletal framework of the building stood what to be a turning spinal cord. From this center most parts of the structure stuck out great, long gnarled ‘what seemed like’ ribs. The entire spire was pulsating in labored breaths as the machines resumed dying in pain because of the pulse which still cackling electronically outside the tower. "Where the hell is he?" said Tai snarling like a hungry wolf. "It would take much too long to search every room in this large tower." Matt said as he caught sight of a mechanical lung wheeze in extreme suffering. "Maybe the pulse thingy shorted out the machine that would zap the planet?" Mimi added as she pulled her dress up to avoid it touching any throbbing wall. "We can’t this chance that it didn’t." said Sora. "Er…..guys…….something’s been bugging me all of a sudden…… Datamon was a cybernetic Digimon. Meaning he had organic parts just like mechanical parts. If the purge actually happened it would not only all the organic Digimon but also himself." Said Joe. "So that must mean he’s somewhere in this complex behind some kind of barrier or shield. The protection would have shielded him and the primary operating system for the EMP. I could guess that we can find him at the highest point of the tower. Probably near the optical lenses. Guys, we need to stop this pulse. The EMP wouldn’t have affected his system at all. The purge is still operating." Said Izzy in a frightening tone. Sora stepped forward, "I have a feeling you two know what to do now." She said to her Digimon who grinned as best as they could portray. The room was huge. With an octagonal shape. It stretched the entire peak of the spire. The ceiling happened to ascend upwards into a gloomy and dark endless path. And yet little could be seen due to the dangling wires and technology which disordered the void that the shadows had created. As the rest of the tower was now doing the machines were staggering as a dying monster plant. The floor was made of plated steel which vibrated as the great tower continued to shake in the throws of death. The room was split by a steel wall spoiled only by a thick layer of shiny glass. To the left of the window there stood a thick armored door which remained tightly fixed the its locked position. The metal throughout the room was a sort of mercury silver darted with irony metallic rust. And behind the dividing wall, a much more different environment was present. It was a darker room. Deserted of any hanging cables anywhere. Sticking out from the impure black tiles of the walls and floor hung only one console that emitted with a soft steel grey in the bluish light that shone on it from the lamps on the top of the two corners on that side. It was circular and large with two glowing infra red eyes staring directly at the children. A single cord of wire hung atop from the ceiling, which seemed to hold the circular object in the air. The object itself was made out of tentacles of metal wire, all tangled together to form this grotesque looking thing. The thing had no mouth. Only its bleeding eyes could been seen. Nothing else. It was some sort of head. And indeed, it wasn’t too long to realize that it was none other than Datamon himself. He was cold and silent. His red eyes peered outward over the room from its place behind the metallic shell. The eyes were possessed by nothing but evil and the wires of the head seemed move slowly up and down constantly from Datamon’s breathing system. He knew they were there. He sensed them. And he thought of how that mysterious dark entity that resurrected him was now watching at this very precise moment. He wished not to displease his new master of failing his plans. For he didn’t like it much. Datamon widened his eyes among the direction of the Digidestined through the glass core room. He was in a cylinder pod with a lense concentrated to the high ceiling. Right above it, hanging over head stood a similar lense with a protective shell covering. The shielding to this second optic lense which would lead to the focusing eyes outside opened. Datamon could now see them. The room shook like an earthquake as the floor of the non shielded room burst outward. It screeched as the steel wrenched outward in a terrifying cry. The Digimon dashed to the window as he gazed out over the shredded floor with no reaction. From the whole, WarGreymon ascended with his claws shone brightly as good as new. Next to rise from the black pit was Phoenixmon. She screeched as she took perch upon a twisted segment of the large room. From her back the Digidestined leapt forth onto the cold steel floor. One after another they landed with a silent thud as they observed the room. Datamon grew afraid as he saw them. He identified the young leader who quickly ran to the door and began the task of disabling the lock. Izzy, the young man was the computer genius. Datamon knew that this boy would be able to get through the combination lock within no more than a minute’s time, or even a second’s time metaphorically. However, that wasn’t what frightened him…… "Don’t turn your back on me now, Datamon." The voice of his master echoed through his brain, "You have to finish the job…..now……besides, this IS what YOU wanted, is it not?" Datamon tried to ignore the voice. But there was no escape from the words of his lord. There was only one Digidestined Datamon had learned to pale before. It was a traumatic experience to be murdered and recall your killer….Tai…..the leader of the Digidestined. He had killed Datamon in sheer cold blood., from the organic side of his mind Datamon knew that Tai would be able to kill him again. He recalled with perfect memory the feeling of being ripped in two by a great heaving pull of those hands. Those life taking hands. Datamon was a champion Digimon. A powerful fighter he was. Yet he remained scared out of his life as he helplessly watched Tai from the firebird’s back. Those very eyes never left Datamon’s. They were like ice, cold and stuck together in frozen terror. "Do not let them win." The voice continued before it vanished. Datamon trembled in fear after hearing the last words of his master. But Datamon was more afraid when he observed Tai again. Tai began to walk up to him. He could have done anything now…..maybe even attack….Datamon was unable to move…..for a Digimon that had no longer had a body but only a dangling head. Fear….it was eccentric that a mechanical Digimon such as himself could know the cold freezing sweat that came with the ingredient of terror. He indeed feared Tai. It was for this reason that he had begun to work on the great organic purge in the first place. He had to rid this side of nature from existence. Yet it was the worst thing he had ever thought of. It was the weakness of the flesh. Datamon had been driven slowly insane by the presence of organic from his own body. Datamon felt the need that he had to save the Digital world from his atrocity. To burn away the violent nature of the animal Digimon and the tropical plant life. He would incinerate it all, leaving behind the true core of the Digital World….a cold metallic dark core. "You idiots." Datamon screamed in a low and mechanical screeching voice through the air, "You are too late. This world is in my hands. The countdown has begun. You can’t stop the organic purge now!" "Izzy, we need to open that door!" Matt cried over the increasing roar devices as they rained down on them like little sparks. The tower shook as Izzy stayed in his position crouched to the panel of the key he had connected his laptop to the circuit board and was now typing in lines of codes without getting too panicked himself. The end was soon at hand. The pillar of energy was swirling still as a great twister outside the soon to be dead tower. Datamon was speechless as he heard the door begin to creek open. "Got it!" Izzy jumped triumphantly as the large steel door shot open. The second door was open when Tai flew its threshold. His eyes gleamed with hate as he remembered the events of their previous encounter…..Sora…..he tried to kill her…..and he had tried to take away the most precious life that ever existed. His life was a waste. He knew he desreved to die. He was evil. A beast. Tai was nearly aware of his actions as he jumped from path to path of Datamon’s whipping tentacles. Tai jumped and ducked always a second sooner before the tentacles made their attack. Tai moved like a flash of light as he leapt upon the Digimon while ripping the head of the hanging cord it rested on.. He was a great speed demon with his fighting. He grabbed the Digimon and swung the helpless virus Digimon as a flailing ball and chain. With the might of his muscles Tai swung the bouncing head backwards into the cold steel floor. Showers of glass and electric sparks rained down as Datamon’s head got severely damaged. Many of the tentacles holding the head together had broken. The human boy turned around and was ready to crush his head beneath his giant mighty foot. Yet Tai paused as he, for the first time, looked upon his actions. Datamon lay there on the ground helpless near death as blue electric sparks crackled around his delicate head. He was bleeding with black blood oozing down the floor and forminging a small puddle near Tai’s feet. The organic side of Datamon was shaking in pain as a small river of purple saliva drained out of his mouth. Tai watched the Digimon shudder on the ground and desperately try to say out ‘mercy’, he felt no more desire to carry on with this killing. Indeed Datamon had tried to kill Sora, Tai’s only true love…..and for that reason Tai made that decision to give Datamon a slightly longer life so that he could milk the suffering and injuries until death took mercy upon the cruel Digimon. Mercy had no existence to those who would try to do anything with Sora. Sora stood watching at Tai with an emotionless face. Tai flinched from her hazel eyes. He was a grotesque beast, a killer, she wouldn’t have done this., even to Datamon. The others stood frightened at Tai’s actions as they had seen years ago when Datamon was killed for the first time. He was again fearful of their impressions of him. He had weeped the night of his first kill for the fact that he would never be seen as a friend to them. He was not on the other hand full of repent to his actions. "Guys, this is not good!" Izzy’s jumping voice cut the silence as all eyes fell on him. "Datamon was right. The countdown is only a few minutes away from reaching zero." "QUICK! Shut it down now, Izzy!" cried Joe in an extreme state of panic. "It’s not that easy. The reactor has reached the critical point. The pulse will happen whatever we do. But I have a plan. The room is shielded to the explosion. We can activate that shielding for the optic mirror up there. The plasma will come out in a radiant form, so in theory by closing off this mirror we would turn the plasma back on itself, which would cause the pulse to fade away safely." "Um. Does that come in English?" Mimi asked. "Awe, shit! It sounds like he knows what he’s doing." Matt rumbled as he took the others out of the room, back behind the armored window. "What’s the catch?" Tai asked Izzy. He sighed mournfully in a fashion never seen before. "The door can be sealed only from the inside. I’ll have to be the one to stay here and seal the blast door. If the door isn’t latched, the plasma will leak out and the purge will commence…..I will be the one who will perish….." he replied with tears running down his eyes. "NO! There must be another way!" cried Tai grabbing hold of Izzy’s shoulders and shaking him to and fro like a rag doll. "No…there isn’t….." said Izzy shaking his head, his voice almost beginning to crack. "Tai spoke to Izzy throwing Izzy against the wall. The young man was so brave. He didn’t even put thought to his own mortality. He was most willing to give it up for others if needed so badly. "Tai….you taught me a lot about Courage…..thank you." Izzy’s sight began to clog up from the developing droplets of water in his eyes. "Izzy, you don’t have to do this." Tai said sternly with sweat breaking in his hair and a single tear rolling down his dry cheek. "Tai, you said yourself that there are things worth dying for. For the first time in my life I really have true friends. Friends that help each other out when they have problems. Real people, not computers, I know I seem so alone and isolated from you all but I realized what you really meant when you said we must only do this if we love something so dear to our mortal hearts…… Well I do love something now……I love you all…… Tou are my family. For the first time I have people I care and love enough to sacrifice everything for. Do you know what it’s like to have never seen your true parents? Well, for the first time I have a real family. Thank you Tai. Thank you so much. You taught me everything." Izzy broke off with a loud sniff up his wet nose. Tai saw words hard to summon as he looked back at the others. All shed mournful tears of sadness and pain for their last farewell to a good soldier in battle. Tai loosened his grip on Izzy and put him onto his two feet. "Izzy….I’m so sorry." Said Tai softly looking down as if showing that he should be ashamed of himself. His shoulders lifted upwards and downwards and he breathed the hard and firm air in the room. "Tai, I already told you. I’ll be fine. I am not afraid no matter how painful it can be." "Not for that." "What?" "For……this!" As Tai’s lips closed he drove his dashing fist hard into Izzy eye, knocking him out half unconscious. He staggered for a few steps before collapsing to the ground with a loud thud. Everyone else stood shocked at Tai’s sudden action as he left Izzy laying there on the ground. Tai leapt through the doorway, and as cleared it his hand the locking mechanism hard. The door closed shut securely as its bolt clanked loudly as it slid into position. Tai walked to the console and began his work. He took no notice to their cries as he began typing away making the commands. "Closing vents…….confirmed……. Seal locking apparatus pressurizing……confirmed….. Optic lense close and disabling…..confirmed…….." With a metallic screech the red lense disappeared behind a thick armored shield . Red lights began to flash a warning that Tai ignored. He looked at Datamon who was half dead and snarling at the young boy. They would die together this time." "He’s coming for you all, Tai Kamiya." Grinned Datamon, "For he is the most powerful being in the whole universe. There is no escape from my master. Oh, yes. He’ll kill you all!" Of course, Datamon’s voice was soft and could not be heard by anybody due to the constant noise of the multiple sirens. Tai walked over to the glass where he stood face to face with the Digidestined one last time. They looked at him with sadness, pain and question in their wet teary eyes. Tai smiled warmly at them all. "Thank you, all of you. I’m very proud of every one of you. Izzy, you are my family as well." He said as he stared at the stinging eyes of his intelligent friend. He looked down to his sister Kari who was screaming in her highest pitch with sorrow and anger as she cried pititfully slamming against the cold glass with her two fists. Tai looked at her sadly as he touched the glass where her heart was pressed, then slowly moved up to her cheek. Kari had her eyes shut, sniffing as her cheeks grew redder. Tai wanted to hag her so badly…..to stop her from feeling this eternal agony. "Kari…..please don’t cry for me…..don’t be sad because of me……you know I will always love you…..and I really hope you’ll be able to realize some day whi I do what I’m doing now." Kari screamed out his name as she began to cry even more, begging that he did commit this final act of honor, "Kari, please…..you need to be strong. I know you will one day become a big girl for me……know that I love and believe in me and I shall always be in with you in your heart." Tai cried to comfort the poor soul as best as he could from behind the demonic barrier that had to separate them from this momentous time. Much to his surprise it was TK who took her into her warm arms as she wept. He looked up to Sora who stood at the glass with watery eyes as she looked at him. He felt as though his heart were about to crack as she sniffed lightly. She was beautful…..so beautiful…..as beautiful as a purple orchid in the sunny windy trees. And Tai ached to hold her…..to comfort her….to protect her from this suffering…… She found it most difficult to say one small word as she kept panting for breath every time she opened her mouth due to her clogged up nose. She looked at Tai with her deep loving eyes. "W…..w…….wh wh………..why?…….." He paused. "For you Sora. What boy could allow himself to loose the chance to give the world to the girl he most loves?" Tai said as he pressed his hand to where hers starined the glass. "Tai…..no….." she whispered as her voice croaked dry and almost out of breath. "Sora……just remember one thing…..no matter what happens…..I’ll always love you……." he cried as for the first time in the years he had allowed the tears to finally cross. "NO!!! TAI!!!!!! PLEASE DON’T DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed out as she pounded her fist against the glass wall and kicking it her knee. "Sora……please don’t hate me for doing this….just remember what I told you…….and you feel that I will be just fine." He murmured sadly. She paused to touch his face one final time…..she had never wanted to touch him more than at that precise moment where fate had sworn that they would never touch ever again. She felt her heart break as she struggled to remain on her two feet. Her body pleaded to break down and sob. Yet seconds remained precious now. She had waited a lifetime to say this….she wait no more……. "Tai…..I love you with everything in my heart….I realized now that it had always been you…..I have always loved you……I could never let hate come to you….." Tai’s eyes shined with love as he listened to the words he had dreamed of hearing for so many years. It was as if the world had no meaning now. They were unaware of the eyes of their friends. They were unaware of Matt as he stepped back into the darkness of the dying complex. Sparks rained down overhead from Sora. It was as though the glass was just an optical illusion. Sora leaned forward and kissed him. Tai did the same as their hands remained pressed to one another. The kiss was a kiss never to be forgotten, a loving kiss of a power far greater than the heavens and earth combined. Feeling poured through the glass as it were not even there. It was the first kiss ever. Even though it actually really wasn’t their eyes shut as they imagined in their souls it was the other in their arms. The room began to fill with light. Yet then within a second the room on Sora’s side began to shake as chunks of metal and wires began to collapse like falling rain. The whole ceiling was about to fall. The others had to get out…… Matt grabbed Sora’s arm in a firm grip and tried to pull away from her beloved Tai. They parted sadly as Tai looked around….it was starting…… "TAI!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!!!!" Sora pulled back as Matt tried to get her out of the room. "SORA!!! WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF THIS ROOM!!!!!!! IT’S GOING TO COLLAPSE!!!!!" shouted Matt. "Oh Sora…there isn’t enough time….remember…..just remember what I said to you….no matter what happens…..I will always love you……ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!……I promise……." He pressed his free hand into the direction of the fading Sora. "Tai…." she whimpered as the pure light on her side began to dim. "Sora….." The lights in the room shattered as they themselves fell to the ground with a loud crash of broken glass flying around the room. The room Tai was in was still filled with snowy white light of the heavens. The plasma was beautiful. It glowed so brightly that it blinded almost blinded Sora’s eyes. But Tai’s eyes still remained fixed on Sora. She longed for the time she had missed him. The chances of her to be held by her one only love were lost into the winds. Moments she could have savored…now just an illusion of pure imagination. Her hand reached out for Tai so badly she swore she was able to fell his hand over hers. "Sora….the light….it’s so nice……so beautiful….oh Sora…..it’s just beautiful….." he whispered as the light ate him up. Sora let her eyes open like never before as she gasped for open air. The last words he said hung to her mind…they were spoken so softly…no louder than a murmur or whisper, "You have cured my heart…..my angel…..my love…..my Sora…." "LORD MEPHISTOOOOOOONNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!" cried Datamon. "TAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! TAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And despite Sora’s last pleads Matt managed to take her out of the room as Sora was blocked to the sight of Tai by the collapsing metals and wires that fell atop of each other. And at that precise moment, a single tear of pure red blood from her eye trickled down Sora’s cheek. Izzy worked slowly with the keys as he began to unlock the door in the rusty and destroyed room. The window had fogged over with steam from the dying machine. Everything was all over. Both of the twin worlds were saved from destruction. A starnge calm overwhelmed the Digiworld. All Digimon, virus, data and vaccine gathered together at the cliffy plateau joined as a family in their sorrow. The virus did not kill, the data had not intention to run, and the vaccine did not want battle, and all three classes weeped together. The word of the great sacrifice had spread throughout the Digiworld in a speed of light. Only hours after the death of Tai Kamiya half the population of the Digital World came to give thanks and honor him. He had saved them all by taking his own life. And as the Digidestined looked out from the gaping hole in the tower of pain they found now solace from the tribute. More Digimon appeared within each moment. And as they crowded along to take their place amidst the congregation they walked calmy and softly…..and slower….head below in misery. Izzy’s tears wet the keys on his laptop as he hit the final key. With a sudden rush of hydraulics the door slid open. As it came loose the soft fog of diffused plasma blew outwards into their faces. It soothed softly in the still air as it faded away as a ghost into freedom. The mist was cool, like the waves of the soft calm water of the sea. Yet Sora adored the sea, and hated all that the mist was emitting to her. It was once a force that could wipe out worlds. It was once a force that could murder. And it was the force that took away the life of Tai Kamiya from her. They entered. And while entering the room of death they wanted to see their leader standing there, through the mist with that same one-sided smile as he always used. But as they looked around they saw only air. They saw only the same grey mist as it vanished into the clean air outside. Joe felt something under his feet. He paused for a few seconds and then lifted them slowly, hoping not that it was what Joe thought it was. In relief, with a small kick of the foot he discovered two round circular balls. The dead eyes of Datamon rolled into each other with a small click as they collided. The eyes stared back at Joe. He had the look upon evil within those eyes. They were still red, and looked still alive. Joe just gave an angry look at those evil balls pointing in his direction and deliberately with all his might stamped on both of them with great ease. Thick liquid of red flowed out from beneath Joe’s shoes spreading out increasingly. He howled in anger after having smashed Datamon’s eyes which represented the last resemblance to the evil Digimon. Joe had desires of becoming a doctor….a healer…..a saver of life….but this Digimon was a killer…..the contrary of all he stood for. The others made their efforts to pull Joe together and calm him down. Yet a glance to Sora silenced everything….even Joe…… Laying almost dead atop piles of giant rubble and stone. Remained her true love. His shirt was completely ripped off from Tai and lay on the floor next to him, shredded severely. His goggles were covered in dirt but the lenses weren’t shattered. His gloves were ripped and covered in his blood. Tai’s hair leaked open like a calm volcano as dark red blood oozed down his head and showered all over his bruised body. Cuts and wounds covered his arms and legs and body. His nostrils leaking with more blood mixed with mucus, his mouth shut with bubbles of saliva mixed with even more blood. His pants torn apart and his body freezing cold. Sora knelt down to Tai in most terror of terrors. Then Sora heard Tai gurgle from the bleeding lungs through the clogged up throat and out into the ears of Sora. He still had enough energy to speak. Sora gasped in surprise and immediately wrapped her arms round Tai, crying once again against her son to be departing love. Tai could not open his eyes in to witness Sora embracing him one last time before he would slowly slip away. Instead he used the organ of his voice box to communicate with the soul of Sora before his ultimate journey to eternal happiness. "S…..S……….S……. SSSSSSSoraaaaaaaaaaaaaa……………." He whispered into Sora’s ear. Sora ran her finger’s over where Tai’s heart beat slowly in its final and mightiest efforts. Tai breathed softly with effort as Sora felt the warmth of the carbon dioxide slip past the back of her neck. "Please Tai………….please hang on with me………please don’t leave us………" cried Sora. "D……D…..Datamon……is he…..did I…..?" "Yes, Tai…….you stopped him……you did it…..you saved us all……everyone’s here for you………." But it was too late. Tai gave out his last breath of life before death slowly took him by the finger and lifted his precious soul out of his body. "TTTTTTAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the voice echoed loudly throughout the entire Digiworld. Even some of its waves were said to may have also made its way through Earth as well. Sora’s mouth was dry, her finger tingling and her eyes stinging. Tai would no longer laugh, cry, smile……or get angry…….. Sora reached down for Tai’s ripped shirt and tried to rock them as she would a sickly baby…it smelled of Tai….his scent…unique only to him…..Sora inhaled it as she forced her tear soaked eyes shut. It was almost as if he was still there with her. She was almost able to feel his breath against her again as she pushed gently the fabric against her nose as if it was really him and not just a shirt. Her eyes looked down upon the floor and suddenly caught sight of a faint sparkle of light. She blinked away her tears as best possible. There it sat atop the cold ground…..a ring……Tai had worn this ring ever since he descended upon this world. It was a secret emotion hidden within his glove at all times…yet he wore it….it was his…..simple and yet dignified silver…… She gazed to her finger covered in Tai’s blood sadly as she removed a ring of her won…..a ring Matt had given her as a promise ring once before….and now…..she could no longer bear that promise anymore…..she could never love him like she had loved Tai….and as Matt watched with a frozen stare she replaced his shiny gold ring for the bloody silver ring of Tai’s……he had lost a ghost….a specter who was no longer alive……with a hateful expression upon his shattered face Matt Ishida turned away and marched out of the room….Mimi was devastated by the last look she gazed upon on Matt. And as she saw Matt depart she nudged Joe out of her way and quickly followed Matt out of the room, walking by his side, looking at his down and crushed face trying to comfort him. Mimi, apart from Sora, cared for everyone too, she was sincere to them all. But for some reason she was the most with Matt. She knew he had dark secrets within his mind right now. Mimi knew that Matt was in somewhat unhappy in some way. She had to find out how painful it really was to see your first girlfriend blow you away like sand, never to pick upon you ever again. Sora had married into the grave as she put that new ring on her finger…..it was now a solemn oath ring……an ultimate promise Sora made to heaven and hell and whatever may exist beyond: she would love only Tai for the rest of her life. Him and no other….. "I love you, Tai……I love you……." Sora whispered as she took a sample of Tai’s blood onto her finger and kissed it softly with a one last tear flowing down from her red eyes to her dry cheek. It was said that after Tai’s death all Digimon mourned as one…..flooding the lake of death over the spire of Datamon. Now the lake was full of tears and sorrow with peace and nothing more. The lake remained silent as a prison to Datamon’s creation. A grave of sapphire water where Tai’s memory would be held forever and ever….. Many would remember this sad day…..as the day the bravest, most noble man they ever knew…..finally fell. For those who honored him…..for one who would call him love…..for one who would call him brother…..for those who would call him his friend……even for those who would call him son. This indeed is the saddest day they could ever possibly imagine. He grew up to become a true hero…..to know the value of sacrifice. To know the value of God’s gift: life. And for those who helped Tai in saving the world…..comes the terror of failure. The weight and mass of being too weak to help. A young boy had given his all and more for two worlds to live. They had taken the great large stone where Tai had died upon. They had taken this marble stone and placed it at the water’s edge upon a slight peninsula of Stoney earth. Upon the face of this monument they displayed a bright brilliant sun, setting behind the cool horizon. On the large stone the following words were engraved: IN MEMORY OF TAI KAMIYA DIGIDESTINED OF COURAGE May the Lord watch over you in eternal peace This place would come to be known as Tear’s Point. A sacred and holy place of refuge from evil. No Digimon or human would ever break the solemn vow by shedding innocent blood here…..for this was a sanctuary to life….and the shrine to the purest and truest of heroes. Sora knelt at the rock of Tear’s Point in the heavy stormy rain with a sad long face with her hat off and her hair covered in a combination of rain and sweat……she had come here often…..yet now it was time for the Digidestined to continue their quest….and it was Sora’s turn to lead them. She understood Tai now. The conflict only he knew. For as a girl all she wanted to do was cry at this monument. But as a leader that could not be. With a painful heart of love she reached into her sack….and withdrew a familiar object. The clouds blcoked the ray of the sun….they would have to leave soon to fight the Dark Masters on the next day….she breathed in the cold air with a deep and agonizing breath. She looked into the palm of her muddy hand where she held Tai’s goggles. With a single tear in her eye she reached down and kissed them softly. Then with one great effort she tossed them into the wet air. They flew far, and with a soft fall they landed with a silent splash in the water....she watched as they sank away into the murky and mysterious depths of the lake. Sora let out all her sadness as the volume of her sadness slowly rose to a tremendous cry into the air. A flash light struck at the same time along with a loud crashing sound of a thunderstorm. The rain grew heavier and Sora’s clothes soon became all wet. She knelt half covered in mud wrapping her arms against the monument still crying, while softly whispering Tai’s name to herself. "Tai……I will always be with you in my heart and in my word…..but for now I am needed……goodbye……until the next time we meet…." She said her last wrods as she got up and turned away and disappeared into the mists of dark air….leaving her courageous young love alone…..alone in the dark…..to wait for her next arrival……. ‘May it be an evening star, Shines down upon you. May it be when darkness falls, Your heart will be true. You walk a lonely road. Oh, how far you are from home. Mornie utilie (darkness has come), Believe and you will find your way. Mornie alantie (darkness has fallen), A promise lives within you now. May it be when shadows call, Will fly away. May it be you journey on, To light the day. When the night is overcome, You may rise to find the sun. Mornie utilie (darkness has come), Believe and you will find your way. Mornie alantie (darkness has fallen) A promise lives within you now. A promise lives within you now.’ ‘May It Be’ by Enya (From the soundtrack of ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring’) Remember, expect this story to be in some ways the same to the original and in other ways different. That’s kind of what a remake is basically all about. The same story line in a different style. And I don’t mean to upset any of you readers. And please be kind to review ( charlesxavier85@hotmail.com ). Because literally I LIVE on reviews and that’s what keeps me going with the story. Thank you! ^_^ Do you think I should put hobbits in this story (Tolkien anybody)? I only mean hobbits in general, not Bilbo, Frodo and co. directly. Next: The Digimon Wraiths |
