Maria Eun Mee has only been home from Korea for two weeks! She was born on June 21, 1998, in Seoul, South Korea. So far she is doing very well. We adopted her through Eastern in Korea and Children's Home Society of Minnesota (CHSM) here in the States. Maria was in Eastern's nursery for a couple months, then in a wonderful foster home in Korea until we went to get her when she was 22 months old. We found her on Precious in His Sight (PIHS). She is considered special needs as she was low birth weight and developmentally delayed. She also had surgery on one eye in Korea.
Since the minute I saw her in person, she looked wonderful! She is walking, talking, and into everything like any other toddler. I think Mrs. Kim helped her to catch up in her delayed areas and now she is thriving. The system can work so well for children if they always receive good care which Maria has. She is a loving, sweet little girl. I know she misses her foster family and is grieving, but I also know that she will make the adjustments well because of her loving foundation. I can't thank Eastern enough for the good care they provided for her while she waited for a
forever family. Also thanks to PIHS for helping us find her and Peg at CHSM for advocating for our family!
