Summary: a snippet, inspired by this week's tosfic challenge - Write a fic or poem of any length inspired by the word... moon -- This story fits into the universe created for my "Language Of Love" Series, of which I've only posted the beginning...this little snippet of a story hints at what is to come, and perhaps will get my muse inspired enough to finish the 2nd and 3rd stories (which are both partially written).
Disclaimer: Paramount/Viacom own the STAR TREK universe ... I just borrow the people and places for a bit of fun ... I promise to return everyone when I am done. I make no money off of this, it is purely for entertainment purposes.

T'KUHT RISING

by T'Lin -- 0607.13

It was good to be back on Vulcan, especially knowing that she would be here for some time to come. A 'Honeymoon' of sorts, although Vulcan's didn't use that particular terminology. 'Honeymoon' or 'seclusion'...it didn't matter what you called it, Uhura was just happy to be here, with the man she loved.

As she thought those words, a warmth filled her mind...her thoughts triggered Spock's reaction, and she knew that he loved her just as deeply. The depth of his passion still surprised her, although it shouldn't. Even before they had gotten close, she knew deep down that he was a passionate man...even if he would not admit it.

His feelings of friendship for the Captain, or his 'discussions' with Doctor McCoy, were proof of his passion for life...whether he'd admit them or not. But now that they were joined, mind to mind, there was no way he could continue to deny his deep feelings for her, or anyone else.

And now, he was totally focused on her, as she sat in the secluded garden, looking out over the dark desert. At first, she could see nothing but the darkness...but slowly, a reddish glow back-lit Mount Seleya, and she knew that it would not be long before T'Kuht would rise.

As the massive orb rose, she gasped...she had never seen anything quite so magnificent, and was about to say so when Spock lightly touched her shoulder and said, "You asked me once if lovers sat and watched the moon rise on Vulcan, and I said that Vulcan had no moon."

"I remember," she said dreamily, surprised that he recalled the incident from so many years ago.

He gave her a small smile, as he continued, "I could see the disappointment in your eyes, at my words...and wished to tell you that we had something far more beautiful, but I did not say a word, for fear that you would think me too sentimental," and then he bent down and kissed her gently, before adding, "I wish I had."

"So do I," she replied, as Spock sat beside her, his arm around her shoulders, holding her close as they watched T'Kuht rise, enveloping them in it's warm, red glow.
